Swinging arm mod!!

First of all an apology, as I’m sure this question has been asked and answered here already, but I’m blowed if I can find the answer after spending hours last night searchin!!!!

Can I change my swinging arm on my raid for the lighter alloy one? Are all the swinging arms from other models alloy and just the Raid that has the big heavy steel thing? Also aside from the arm what other bits are necessary?
Happy Sunday gentlemen, hope no ones flooded or adversely affected by this nasty weather, all the best, Brad

Hi Brad. We have been pretty lucky here between Exmouth and Exeter with just minor road flooding that soon subsided plus our ration of fallen trees which get cleared pretty quickly.

My heart goes out to those poor sods in Wales having watched some videos including one house where the water was going through the house and coming out the front windows with huge force!

Regarding the swingarm, yes, the aluminium one is a straight swap although you will need a longer axle. It gives you a really useful weight saving especially if you replace the steel linkage arm with the OE aluminium one as well.

Plus you get more adjustment if you swap to the OE shock wink

Good luck Brian

Cheers Brian, glad to here all’s well in you’re neck of the woods. Thanks for the info, I promise to post some pictures of my old girl sometime soon. Hoping to get the frame coated some point over the brighter days, hence thinking of swinging arm swap. All the best, take care, Brad.
