Or, to ask the question in a different way, does the bolt go in from the RHS (exhaust) of the bike or LHS (chain/sprocket side)?

The manual shows it both ways no

Hi Brian,

On mine the “cut out” faces to the rear and the bolt goes in from the exhaust side.

I have had that area apart to renew all the Swingarm and Linkage Bearings, Bolts and Bushes but am sure I didn’t change the position of anything.

Will be interesting to hear what ttboof says.

Auckland reached 30c yesterday, only the third time we’ve seen that since 1987. 🥵 for us, with two big natural harbours in the city so always a sea breeze from some angle.

Looking forward to seeing/reading about your 350 build. Trish deserves a medal putting up with your Oven and Dishwasher antics !

Cheers

Jeff

Thanks guys. That's the way Steve has fitted his shock on his 350 nut & bolt rebuild as it seemed logical.

I have since found a photo of a new shock (courtesy of Steve's shop) and, unless someone had spun the bottom yoke around, it shows the cut out facing the rear with the bolt going in from the exhaust (RH) side wink
