Kart 250cc engine the same as the TTR engine?

Hi,

The TTR was never a bike made in large numbers, therefore the availability of parts is not great.

Over the last years i have been always looking for some other yamaha machine that could share the same engine, and therefore possibly extend the sources for parts.

It seems like i found it! Found a yamaha 250cc kart engine that is very similar to our loved 250cc thumper.

All the gearbox/clutch part is different, but apart from that, internally should be the same...

Your thoughts?

Any of you found other machines with the TTR 250 engine?

Thanks!

Its the Yamaha FK 250 engine. Made for karts, based on the Yamaha TTR 250 engine.

It runs a Mikuni BN34-28-14 carb which I think is in the jet ski family of carbs.

Yep. Only the top part of the engine is similar. The bottom is totally different
