Wondering if anyone has noticed better milage with different fuels. Here in australia we have 91, 95 and 98 fuel but they all react differently. On my ducati 98 gives awesome power but i actually get better milage from the 95. I wonder if the 98 ive been running in the trr is doing the same.
Anyone compar...
Hello everyone, I've just bought a TTR and pick it up next week - can't wait!! I've ridden a road bike for many years and fancied trying somthing different - so plan to do some trail riding this year. I will be joining the Northumbia TRF pretty soon. Looking forward to getting the bike and taking it for a sp...
Hello I removed my seat today and found a whole lot of mess, the bottom of the air filter housing was just thick sludge and the tube that drains all the excess water was block solid I have included a photo of the top of the housing which doesn't look right (like something has been removed) I think its like...
I was invited on a North Devon trail ride today. First time in North Devon for many months and it was a real culture shock. The lanes are so different to my local East Devon lanes and there were some really tricky slippery slate and rock climbs. Most of the lanes we ride in Devon are UCRs (Unclassified Coun...
Hi , just wanted to introduce myself. Purchased a blue TTR in January this year and now a member of the Surrey TRF. Got a few lanes under my belt now and must say what a capable bike it is. Easy to ride, will go anywhere and inspires confidence. Only problem I have is my legs are a bit short so may have to inve...
hello, Though i would join this forum to help me, I am picking up a 1994 Open Enduro model ttr 250 with 6,000 miles at the weekend. It hasnt been used for a year so no MOT or Tax but recently fitted a gel battery. thinks hes regulery starts it up, would it be worth changing the oil. Haven't passed test yet stil...
as probably the cheapest option for lowering by about an inch, how exactly would one shave the seat, and would it be possible to do it and retain the original cover, or is that buggered onced ripped off. oh yeah, i mean doing it ones self, obviously i could take it to a motor trimmors but then it wouldnt be t...
Four of us took the opportunity of a decent day of weather yesterday to make an exploratory raid on the far flung reaches of East Devon. We followed a route that I used many years ago and I wanted to check it was viable before offering to take a bigger group around it. Probably only a couple of readers will r...
Look what turned up today Fully prepared by a guy for a trip to Mongolia that, sadly, got cancelled coz of his wife's illness. 2,000 miles on the clock so only just about run in. Just the job for those Tesco trips! Not been allowed out on it as I seem to have been well and truly caught for Xmas decorating...
is it normal for fuel to drain out of the tube that leads to what looks like the float bowl when you tip the bike to the left about 45 degrees. i was lubing my chain and had the bike leaned over to make it easier to turn the rear wheel and noticed fuel leaking out.
Hey guys, I'm new to the world of motorcycles. I rode some smaller dirtbikes when I was 10-12yrs old, but never had one of my own (my mother forbid it). So, now my 36th birthday is coming up and I decided to get myself a present... turned out to be a 2004 TTR250. Reading through the forums here was invaluabl...
Hi all, I'm after printing a couple of pages from the downloaded owners manual, but it says it is password protected, anyone shed some light on this? don't think the wife would be impressed if the laptop dissappeared into the garage for an oil change just being lazy and trying to safe myself having to w...
Good morning all, after lurking and reading lots on the site i thought i'd join and say hello! I'm not currently a TTR owner but thats not for a lack of trying, I'm selling my road bike to fund my new hobby and after much deliberation, have decided that a TTR would be my best choice! I'm based near St Albans i...
i am buying a new socket set, and would like to know the largest nut that is on a TTR so i can get a set that will service my bike without having to go parts shopping half way through something. also if the nut is metric or not would be great too. cheers.
Just back from a tarmac ride to test the Klan heated jacket kindly loaned to me by Andy (Shack). Andy's vest uses a cigarette lighter plug which was ideal as I have one on the TTR bars to fuel my GPS. Very very toasty - lovely bit of kit. Might take a bit of thinking on the cables but for those trail rides where...
I am looking at purchasing my first trail/dirt bike. I have done a little research and believe that the TTR is the way to go. I have looked at a few second hand private sales and one particular stands out, but some issues to report. Blows whitish grey smoke (from exhaust) at times hard to start with start...
A chance for someone to benefit from my mis-order! I have a standard 72.95mm Wossner piston kit (8646DA) for sale. It includes piston, ring set, gudgeon pin and circlips. Normally £110 inc p&p - see here £95 inc p&p within the UK! PM me if interested. Brian
Do you think you would notice a change from 47 to 48 rear sprocket?
Just took the bike for a test ride with the 13:47 setup and she went well and still does over 110 km/h. Gearing commander says not much difference in top speed with a change to 48, but would there be a noticeable difference in down low resp...
The manual says to use a 520V2 but the chain below I was wanting to buy It's called a D.I.D 520VT2 T-Ring Chain Link Does anyone know if it's suitable ?? It's on super special this week Thanks Steve
This is such a simple thing compared to the monumental restorations that have been posted, but I am just tickled at the result. When I first bought my bike a few months ago, it had a (very loud) Big Gun exhuast system and a Mikuni TM-33-8012 racing carburetor installed on it. Great pick up, but it took fo...
Hi guys, Hope you had a good Christmas. I have been commuting through the snow over a moorland track on my TTR250 ('94 Raid), having a few slips trips and falls on the ice but never being let down by the bike yet. I recently changed my Sprag with parts I sourced from Partshark in America, I did it because I...
