I replaced the linkage bearings on my TTR yesterday and, having dug through my spares box, decided that I don't need so many spare relay and link arms!
So I spent a grimy day today pressing out all the old bearings and cleaning up the arms. Out of 8 relay arms that I "processed" there wasn't one bearing that I would have trusted to put on my TTR. They all had some degree of rust on the bearings or sleeves.
The all-steel Raid arm's bearings were so rusted in that, despite a lot of heat, banging and swearing, I couldn't get them out so have binned it in disgust
The aluminium OE arms weren't so bad and only a couple needed a touch with the blowlamp.
The link arms bearings weren't so bad as they have a degree of protection up in the swing arm but, even so, it makes sense to renew those bearings as they come in the AllBalls kits I use along with a new shaft.
So now I have some arms for sale all ready for you to fit your new bearings and seals. I have done the hard part for you in removing the old bearings and cleaning up the arms
