would popping on deceleration indicate too lean an idle screw mixture? i come to this due to it being only when i close the throttle when engine braking, so jetting wouldnt be anything to do with it would it? havent noticed popping or backfiring under any other circumstance. the bike idels well, start...
Just had so much spare time on my hands recently with the flooding and that, so this is how I spent it. This is a Carbon wet film wrap. It took 2 days to do and the stickers I got the local shop to dye cut them. I had the petrol tank's inside bottom half cut out and pieced and welded because it was leaking and wh...

Hi all ! I have to change left crankcase cover, but i can't find a new part with partnumber 4GY-15411-01-00 . I have found a lot suggestios of 4GY-15411-02-00 in the internet shops. So i have a question : are these parts interchangeable ? Thanks, Dmitriy

Does anyone one have one for sale ?
Cheers Chris
I have taken the swingarm off to repair the scratches in it caused by a work out chain slider. Whilst its off, and since the bit I've repaired needs painting anyway, I thought I would paint the swingarm. To do this I have tried to take the suspension linkage off but can't get it to budge. I checked the f...
Hi All, just bought a handheld Garmin GPS unit for $99.00, they are on special and they only have a couple left, I still have to buy some maps for the unit, they cost $229 from a place called OZtopo, extremly detailed maps, download there demo map to get an idea of what you are getting, the detail is amazing...
Went out this morning with my amigo Matt. He was on his WR250R, I was on my Raid. We went up to a quarry first, here are some pics of Matt parked up for a breather then I took some flying lessons then we went on a lane up above Oxenhope, near Haworth Post ride all day breakfast The new chain and sprockets (1...
I have partially stripped down my `new` 2003 bike today to get an idea how it all goes together. While I was at it I cleaned all the electrical connectors and filled them with Dielectric grease to keep out moisture in the future. The spark plug recess had a lot of dry mud in it and it took a fir bit of fiddling...
A few Devon riders went on a trail last Saturday. Various bikes took part, amongst which was a lonely TTR. It fared well over Dartmoor's varied lanes, until a badger was seen .... Unfortunately the badger broke the bike - well, after the fall to terra firma the starter motor decided to disgorge its gut...
Hi all, just registered on here. I know it's bad form to register on a forum, (I'm a member of UKGSER) just to sell a bike, but it's time for my TTR250 to find a new home and the good folk of GSER are more obviously more interested in BMWs. I hope someone on here finds it useful.
Just wondering if anyone would like to share contact details so as to increase chances of rides with other TTR owners in the area for a bit of fun. Im also open to exploring and sharing good rides in our area. If someone wants to PM me, ill give them my number. -- Edited by davecambo on Thursday 15th of Marc...
My little townmate or T80 has alittle bit of an on going problem the poor old girl, The timing chain has been ratteling and so i changed the spring tensioner as it was old and it is abit quiter but still ratteling and when i was adjusting it was going from very tight then moved it abit more and it went quite sl...
Grabbed a mate and did wombeyan caves road today. weather was perfect this time. mate nearly got hit by a kangaroo, i nearly got hit by some kind of hawk that was sitting on the side of the road and decided to fly at me as i approached it. I also had a fly go up my nose at 100km/h on the way, and i couldnt blow it ou...
These two combinations are almost identical, but even with a combination that IS identical, could there be some differences at high speed?
For example, would the 14 front resuce revs at 100km/h or not.
Aain, this is for a combination that is identical say around 4:1
Jusy trying to work out what...
For those who live around me, wanting to do a nice trail ride with a few little river crossings, magnificent views, a lot of hills, and also a nice stop and fun on a very long and high swing bridge over the coxs river, i suggest riding out to the Six Foot Track. Here is a link with some views. You can enter on th...

Should also read in pissing down torrential rain with no wet weather gear for 250km ! Day off today, and had the dilemma of chosing between running new race tyres in on the ducati, or taking the TTR out for an adventure. TTR won. I left goulburn early and the sun was shining. I got to Taralga which is 50km aw...
Now then, I have found with cars that spotting an unexpectedly poor fuel economy can be one good way of seeing how knackered an engine is. I have been commuting from Keighley to Wakefield in West Yorkshire this week, a round trip of 47 miles all on busy roads at rush hours. I have 1994 Raid, standard eng...
Evening all......any other TTR riders in the Herts/Beds area out an about on Saturday? I quite fancy a ride out if anyone wants to come out...not sure it'll be a whole day thing due to family time but a good few hours at least! Shame i've not had the chance to change the rear sprocket as yet though...never...
Great to have the new bike and she's a beaut! Bought this off a top bloke (TTRRaid on this forum) and i'm delighted. Went out yesterday and here are a few pics of her while we were out and about. [IMG]https://i1270....
Morning all, Bit of novice help required here if possible? The biting point on my clutch lever is a bit too far out and i want to adjust it...but i'm not sure how. There are quite a few little nuts and adjusters on the cable etc (longer cables fitted to my bike as bar risers are fitted too). Can anyone assist...
Anyone using throw over panniers or other luggage? Something neat and tidy. I'd like to see pics of how people are setting their bikes up for touring if possible to get some ideas.
I like the wolfman stuff but there may be something better out there.
Beatifully crafted seat that has been professionally rebuilt with a very nicely stitched cover. Despite its "thinness", it is surprisingly comfortable. Just as well really as it was intended to support a lady overlanding the TTR through Mongolia Although shown with the big Acerbis t...
Morning all, I'm currently running with 14/44 sprockets on my Raid but when i bought it, it came with a Renthal 52 tooth sprocket and chain to go with it. What will i notice putting the 52 sprocket on? How will the bike differ? FYI - i only do 'lane' riding with a bit of road to link up the lanes...no commutin...
Morning all..New member to the site here so Hello to you all......I'm seeking a TTR right now and seem to be suffering with an under supply situation! I live near St Albans (Herts) but am willing to travel for the right bike, Seems a lot of TTR's are owned in the S/W (Dev & Cor) funnily enough! I'm hopi...
