We are alive and still kicking. I recently bought a TTR250 OE 1993 model and I hope I get it in shape. I think its a very nice bike, the best combination for an off-roader and street legal bike. Ride on .
I got a delivery today from totally ttrs, here is the stuff: As you can see, I went a little enthusiastic I'm going to put the bits on over the next few weeks, and will post the progress on this thread. There are a couple of niggly things I need to look at in the process, such as a bad contact on the brake lever s...
Hi the indicators on my 1995 TTR250 are flashing fast and to the point were it blows the bulbs on the rear indicators. The sun is shining here in Devon, which makes a change from the previous days of persistent rain. The southwest has recently joined the southeast of England in their official drought. It's typcal of this disjointed governance that they fly in the face of common sense, public decision and blatant fac...

as you can see from my posts, im looking for more range from the TTR so i can do some long off road tours around my area. it is common for there to be more than 150km between petrol stations on these trips due to them only being open during the day or not existing at all on the way. can someone who has, or has had a...
Just heard back from Yamaha UK in response to my question: The road legal version was available in the UK between 2003 and 2005 and Yamaha UK officially imported approximately 781 units. So, if your insurance company doesn't believe the TTR250 was ever an official import, you can quote this and, if n...

Bought my 2003 in 2004. Been riding it hard ever since though I've slowed down the last couple of years since I ride with my son who's 21 and doesn't always have time for dear old dad. Also in the summer my girlfriend has me boating more than anything else so I ride more in the spring and fall. Favorite plac...
I bought a bike form a friend recently, he had had it for 2 years and had maybe be done 4 miles. The tachometer says 2000 miles. I took my UK bike license a very long time ago but not my Colorado one. The test I am sure is very easy, the car one was a bit of a joke, but dealing with the DMV is another matter. They wil...
Hi all, it's time to part with the TTR as my garage and shed are overflowing with bikes and bits of bikes, since the TTR is getting used the least it's the one for the chop. The bike is a 1995 open enduro model with a larger headlight and Supermoto wheels (talon hubs and excel rims from a Yamaha wr450 with spa...
It's been glorious weather recently. I have been out around my local trails and can report that it's been very pleasant. I'll bet a few of us will know one of the places I went. Long may it last. Martyn
I get quite a lot of butchered looms, switches, etc, which require repairs and, inevitably, joining of wires! I am unhappy about soldering joins in a bike loom as it makes a very solid and unforgiving joint from which wires can break. Bullet connectors and the like are OK for joining a couple of wires bu...
Hello !!! I bought my tt250 raid 2 years ago. Unfortunately i can't show you my iron horse right now because it's disassembled at the moment. Just want to fix some problems before moto season. Best regards, Dmitriy
Hello, I look for the disposal of the magnets of the starter for my yamaha TTR 250. I changed the axis that was worn. I will like to know in which direction it turns, For I climbed back up it as I was able. The bike starts up not I think that the rotation direction is not correct. Thank you -- Edited by al...
Hello all... I picked up a '99 TTR250 a few days ago, through a trade and have yet to ride it.. It sat in a barn for about 4-5 years and after some checks, fresh gas and a battery, she fired right up (for a minuite). The carb is leaking so I have it pulled off and I'm waiting for some parts to rebuild it before I t...
Morning all, just thought I would say hello, not strictly a ttr owner, but my other half has one that I ride a fair bit, and do the maintainence on! I will find a picture at some point! Dave
My TTR250 had a flat spot from idle on take off, i thought it had an inlet leak as i couldn't get it to idle smoothly without winding out the mixture screw excessively. I just replaced the inlet manifold o-ring without taking off the carby and it took a while to get it started... in the end some arerostart...
New to the forum thank goodness I found ya'll. I am new to the dirt bike thing son is 4 and is riding a Razor electric dirt bike, getting a gas one for his 5th bday in July. Dad has always wanted one so this was my excuse to purchase my first dirt bike. I know very litte about these bikes, it ran strong no issues o...
The challenge with tax discs on dirt bikes is to make them last a year without turning to pulp what with all the water they have to endure from rain, ford crossings, power washing, etc. The system I have used for many years with great success is to attach then to the LH ("nearside" as required b...
Hello,
As I've mentioned before I've got an after market head light, there is a bolt hole at the bottom but no bracket to bolt it too, would be okay for mot reason to cable tie to bottom yolk as security and use locking bolts to secure the head light to the bracket on the forks.
