im currently running 14/52 sprocket set and was wondering which way to go on the rear or front sprocket to get a bit more acceleration. not so worried about top speed as on the trails id be lucky to get abouve 70km (most of the time alot lower ).

thanks

Down on front and up on rear but, as you are already running a large rear sprocket, I suggest trying a 13 tooth front.

Aiden...i run 14/52 and found it the best suited to the trails...i went 13/52 and found i was constantly changing gear, up and down thru the box...hit 6th gear before i knew it and had no-where to go after that....after trying lots of variations 14/52 is the best...like you i only touch the tarmac inbetween trails so had no need for big top speeds...hope this helps..
Neil.

I just swopped over to 14/52, it's much better in the dirt than the 14/44 I was running but I keep going for 6th on the tar inbetween trails, I'll get used to it smile
