I bought this 2011 TTR250 with a meagre 800klms on the clock a few weeks back for a good price. It's still fitted with the stock factory tyres and sprockets (14/44) which I intend to change soon. I'm thinking for the style of riding I do which often involves very slow riding that I'd be best served by...
Another TTR has been haunting me the last month. I keep on hoping it gets sold soon, so I can save some money. It has a lowered seat so it will be perfect for the missus. Advise from fellow addicts would be appreciated.
SOLD Stainless rack and detachable pannier frames to suit all TTR 250s I'm modding some givi frames to fit so no longer need this set-up. Very solid rack, really strong and durable as its stainless. SOLD!! -- Edited by Moo on Wednesday 21st of February 2018 06:34:10 PM
Mrs H has said she would like to join me along a couple of smooth trails. I was given the rear pegs but don't know what I need to mount them? Are they bolted on only are do they have friction washers, springs of any sort. Workshop manual shows nothing. Anyone have parts manual pics ? Cheers Dom
Hi Everyone, I fancied a four stroke trail/dirt bike and being a Yamaha fan, it had to be a TTR! I picked up my 2000 reg. project in the autumn as a winter project. It had had a hard life bless it and is taking quite a bit of my time and money but we are getting there! First stage is to get it to mot standard and tid...
After breaking a couple of shafts (they are only made of brass) in the past trying to free a seized choke I decided to try a different approach today and it worked so I thought I would share it. I firstly took the top off the carb to see if there was any way of freeing it from inside but I don't believe there is...
Bit warm today, I was going to head to some sand but it meant riding next to long grass & with the hot weather we had this week not a good idea. Got out for a quick loop on the TTR Up to High Eden & back, 120kms & didn't even get off the bike, was pretty warm & I drank two litres of water, bacon &am...
Hi, has anyone in the UK got a rear wheel they want to part with? Ideally an anodised purple one but I know that's a big ask! So anything really! Cheers! -- Edited by Kings398 on Thursday 15th of March 2018 01:14:36 AM
These are the usual culprits! I have just stripped them out of a carb that has been standing unused for a long time. The float bowl gasket was hard and flattened. The diaphragm had fused to the carb body and had to be prised off plus the two small O rings by the diaphragm had seen better days. The carb wasn't...
Hi All, I purchased this bike in March 2015 from Moto Ward in West Sussex. I rode it to Boretech and got an MOT then back home stripped of the back end mudgauards etc with the intention of powder coating the frame. But due to other commitments it’s stayed in my warm garage covered over. I’ve purchased lots...
Mine is a 2003 blue model with the plastic tank. Whenever I am pushing it or at lower speeds I can hear slight rubbing on both the front and rear brakes. I recently replaced the tires and forced the calipers back, but after pulling the brakes a few times to repressurize it continued. I read that this may be...
Hi all, as is the norm as soon as I bought my bike 2weeks ago, I bought loads of stuff, one being a new headlight. The previous owner had broken the lens but not the cowl. He has fitted an aftermarket unit. I spotted a brand new light on ebay and bought it for £70 When it arrived it is too big. Looking at anoth...
Looking for a 18 inch front tyre. Offroad. Rang around and its not looking good. Anyone know the biggest tyre dealer/importer. Australia. Thanks. PS its a Honda TL50. 1976. -- Edited by Markvan on Saturday 3rd of February 2018 08:58:15 PM-- Edited by Markvan on Saturday 3rd of February 2018 0...
picked up this poor ol thing needing some love runs but not very well been standing while carb stripped and cleaned was thinking to repaint frame clean plastics list i see so far: engine mount blown due to oxidation along with front alloy brake hose brakes need refurb speedo sensor missing exhaust h...
I have been looking at rock tumblers as a possible way to go in cleaning up the hundreds of special Yamaha nuts and bolts, etc., that I have collected over the years before plating them. I will de-grease them first but its de-rusting I need. Most UK tumblers I found online were too small and expensive. T...
As most of us have all known for years, barely twisting the throttle on a 250-450 race bike will make it launch hard. The same throttle response on a TTR is much smoother and less aggressive. For the first time the other day, I twisted it much farther and it flew from 40-70 mph with plenty of power le...
Hi there, I'm new to the forum but its been a valuable resource for me since I got my 2002 TTR250 a couple weeks ago. I bought it non-running for $250, but its in good condition and seemed to be a simple job. I expected stator or CDI. I got it home and was doing all the necessary voltage and resistance reading...
Anyone in the North East or prepared to travel? I could arrange a ride out loop taking in Weardales fine scenery. Ad your name here and if any takers will look to do it sometime in May ? Cheers
Since I bought my Blue TTR a couple of months ago I've given it a few outings, come off it a few times, had a fair bit of fun and have now carried what I feel are the necessary repairs and maintenance/mods to make it a really reliable and useable tool with a bit more oomph than it used to have. I decided not to me...
