I know some TTR owners also have WR250Rs so, hopefully, this info will be of interest to them As well as running Totally TTRs, Steve also has a sideline in WR250R parts as the TTR and WRR share some parts.Anyways up, Steve is reducing his stock of WR250R parts and has listed a lot of them on eBay with a low st...

How the hell do you top up the rear brake reservoir please? Not obvious other than removing a few bits and pieces out of the way. Need to bleed/replenish the fluid after replacing the rear piston and am mystified !
Hi everyone, I have another question for you guys. Is cold starting and or riding bad for the bike or engine in cold weather(40-50) Fahrenheit. I am not worried as much about the bike as I am the engine. Is it bad to start the engine when it is colder out? I'm worried that the oil flow isn't great and it will c...
A Yamaha TTR250 is being ridden in the Enduro 1 class at the 2018 A4DE by a Josh Ballard. Might be worth keeping a look out, guessing it would be Geoff's son !!! Rds Terry

A customer sent me back some genuine Yamaha piston rings he bought, they are +0.50, He bought them and they did not fit his aftermarket piston. The rings all look good and he assures me they were not fitted, but the box is grubby. Sensible offers considered. Many thanks Steve

Hi Everyone, Just back from riding 90 Mile Beach up in the North of New Zealand. It isn't actually 90 miles long but 55 miles or 88 kilometres. Poor surveying I guess or 90 Mile Beach sounds more impressive that 55 Mile Beach. Attached are some photos (hopefully the right way around but if not, they will n...

Hello folks, how does one separate the mechanism to replace the small torsion Spring? The large one I'd obvious and straight forward, but cant see how it comes apart to fit the small Spring! Push fit? Cheers in advance

I have a spare rear wheel that I don't think I'm ever going to need. It's in good condition and comes with brake disk, 52T sprocket, spacers the lot and a barely used MT43 tyre and tube. Offers around £150, collected in Devon preferably as it'll be a pig to post. -- Edited by Padowan on Thursday 8th of March...
Hi everyone. I've recently bought a 1999 TTR and I love it! I've only managed to go out once however, I know no-one near me who rides off road so I need to work out how to gain more experience. It's not that I'm shy, but I don't like to hold up the pack! I'm a fairly experienced road biker with a Tiger XRX and Ind...
hi everyone. I noticed that the very bottom of the carburettor always has a bit of gas hanging from it. And it looks like the engine case directly below it is wet. I felt the engine case and it feels dry so the carburettor must not drip often. Does anyone have this problem and what would fix it? Thanks.
I was adjusting the angle of the handlebars and levers when out popped the clutch switch. I can see that the outer part of the switch cable has a register which fits the lever housing but try as I could I couldn't get it to stay in. I have looked at the detail of fitting a new aftermarket one but am still uncle...

Hi, a question on batteries. How long do batteries last on the ttr? I put a new battery in my 2005 ttr a little over a year ago and when it is not in use it is on a battery tender. When i went to start it today it was as dead as a dead thing, nothing on it. Surely a battery should last longer than that length of time T...
Has anyone found a replacement for the fragile rubber(?) lamp holders for the neutral/ main beam warning lights please. As you have probably already guessed one of mine destroyed itself when being removed!
Took the bike out for a ride the other day, my TTR250 and a mate with TTR600. Bunyip State forest 1 and 1/2 hours North of Melbourne. Been dry for a week, the night before we go rain and a fine drizzly mist on the day. We were hoping for a dry day so we could tackle some of the harder tracks in the area, mainly Ro...
i was out riding the other day and after about 30 minutes the rear brakes started squealing very loud when I used them. I pulled over and looked at the brakes to see if something got stuck between the caliper and the pads. There was nothing there but I noticed the brakes where very hot(duh). Does anyone el...
