Hey Everyone, I had my 97 TTR stolen from my house the other night (first night after moving in by the way!). Luckily I got it back the next day relatively undamaged but the grubs have snapped the steering lock off in the locked position. I managed to get the key barrel out using instructions from a previo...
Wellp, my CDI and regulator got busted and my trusty mechanic whipped up this amazing contraption that got my bike running good again Video of bike starting up: It's from a car.
Whilst I had my frame done I also got these handles powder coated in gloss black. I would like to see 40 pounds the pair posted.. Si -- Edited by Black8driver on Tuesday 3rd of July 2018 10:40:54 PM
Hello fellow ttr riders, The swing arm chain guide is in really bad shape on my blue dream and unfortunately it seems to be pretty hard to come by a replacement without leaving an arm and a leg at the local Yamaha dealer. Since she is my only vehicle and I live about 10 mile up the mountains from the nearest s...
Hi, does anyone know if a 140 e07 mitas will fit my ttr......got a good part worn that needs using , looks like it would fit but it's one big tyre....thanks in advance , steve.
This May have been covered before but what intervals are folk changing oil at on overland trips? I’m thinking as the bikes aren’t being caned the oil should last apprecabley longer. Also how often are things like valve clearances being checked and how often are they out of spec? We’re heading off fro...
Hi Totally TTR, I have recently bought a 1993 ttr 250, it's a bit rought looking and upon closer inspection the bike has revealed its rough life. Rant incoming, TL;DR at the bottom. I have a few questions about whats what on the bike, OEM parts, aftermarket replacements and bits that stood out as sketch...
Hi, new member here from Rutland, UK. I recently bought a '94 Open Enduro for playing on. She's not turned out to be the best cared for example and after having her a week I've already had the head off as she blew the plug out threads and all! Think I'll be doing a full strip and rebuild soon enough by the look...
I've had a few bikes before and generally do my own wrenching. Decided to pick up a dirt bike after leaving road bikes a couple years ago. Paid 900 bucks for this 1999 TTR. The Carb was a basket case. Accelerator pump was bad. Somebody had lost the check valve . Pilot jet was gunked up. Somehow it s...
I purchased in February this year . Bought in April 2016 by the previous owner and this is his story, to satisfy a "moped" challenge with the team from work that was settled as off-roading up in the Peaks(actually The Lake District) including riding there and back (I’m in Peterborough). Bought from T...

2005 TTR250R 12 months MOT. selling on behalf of my best pal in North Yorkshire. He bought the bike and has ridden about 3 times, twice of these have just been across his fields. Did a quick search and only found tyre fitting? I have a part worn tyre I need to fit as the current tyre is (I presume) an off road tyre and badly cracked. I have a load of tyre levers, happy with the refit but just wondered the best way to get the old one off? Noticed there was talk on other threads of cutting t...
Today the lads on blue bikes Me on a WR250R, Janos on a WR450F & Matt on a DRZ400s, 210kms around the hills, fast twisty hilly gravel roads, summers tracks, twin tracks & farm tracks. The weather was very nice for a winters day with clear skies & sunshine, only took a couple of photos when we s...
Hope you don't mind a few more videos, this time only TTR videos, some may have been posted previously but as I've been on the WRR most of the time in the last two years I've been through my video folder & selected a few mainly from the Flinders ranges in the North of South Australia I came across a guy I k...
Google translator Hello gentlemen. I have a motor after refurbishment and I want to change the oil. Now it is Motul10w40 and is it good to give this one with a photo? And then do you have to rinse the engine? Is it better to pour Motul again? Thank you.
I have recently fitted new rings and stem seals and i took it for its first ride out since the work, i did 45 miles at a steady pace. Bike sounds good and doesn't smoke anymore. When I got home I noticed that some oil had come out of the blocked off pipe on the oil breather (at the bottom), what can cause this?...
Paul 37 Grenoble area '99 250 TTR, which runs well thanks to skills and also a reliable mech. I'd like (but don't know if it's possible) to dismantle my starter + battery to change it with a condensor. Not to win weight & trophies... Just that my battery is dead and my TTR only starts with my right leg...
My 1994 Raid For Sale as I no longer use it. Not sure about price (advice gratefully received). I want to sell and would rather see it go to a good home than eBay: Mine since 2009. VGC mechanically. Everything works (including the digital speedo!) Small oil leak from cylinder base though. Garaged since...
mine on idle or high revs makes up to 13.5v. i tried changing rectifier with no change i.e. v doesnt increase. i measured between connected battery terminals. On my other biked I looked for voltage was higher than 14v on idle.
Alright so stopped by a mates house to pick something up, killed the bike grabbed what I needed, went to start again, no E start, fair enough, gave it a hellofa lott kicks, nothing, long story short I’m getting no power to the starter and no spark, dash lights work fine, horn, headlights, battery is fine...
Hello just joined the forum as I've recently joined the TTR owners club hoping to keep it as original as possible but hints, tips and spares will be most welcome
Brand New with Tags Triumph Garrett waterproof trousers. Tried on once for size, but they're too small for me. Id describe them as more of a 30-32" waist rather than a generous 32" waist. Waterproof with knee and hip armour. Has two cargo pockets on the thighs and zipped pockets above. Any quest...
Hi there! Just a quick line to introduce myself! I’m a Scotsman living and working in Uganda, East africa. I wanted to ride bikes when I was a teenager, but would definitely have done something stupid and killed myself! Now a bit older (if not much wiser...) and recently started riding! Love explorin...
