repairing my recently stolen bike

Hey Everyone,

I had my 97 TTR stolen from my house the other night (first night after moving in by the way!). Luckily I got it back the next day relatively undamaged but the grubs have snapped the steering lock off in the locked position. I managed to get the key barrel out using instructions from a previous post in the forums but I have not been able to get the actual pin out. The bike is rideable, but there is a "sticky" spot when the bars are turned fully to the right where I think the pin is rubbing somewhere maybe.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Ben

Hi Ben and sorry to hear of the theft and damage cry

I am afraid there is no magic bullet and it's gonna be a case of lining the pin up with the hole in the frame and working it out with a screwdriver or similar.

You certainly don't want the steering locking up whilst riding doh

If all else fails you may need to drop the forks out but that should only be as a last resort!

Brian
