So even though i start off with the stripdown in actual fact is coming together now with the engine back in.... Not sure why some of the photos have turned themselves around? Sorted for you Cubber I picked up the...
Wow - I never cease to be amazed at the resources avaialble via the interweb! I was looking on YouTube for info on replacing a MAF sensor on a Jag and saw this video on the sidebar:- It also alerted me to a tool that I haven't come across before ca...
Does anyone want a Kickstarter kit. I was going to use it but decided since I've spent far too much on my bike already I need to recoup some cost. Full kit in good working order minus the spring Dowl and seal. But I believe they are still available in the shop. No idea of current price for these so offers I gu...
Hi totally ttr, I am just about ready to order a bunch of bits for my 1993 Open enduro. The list is quite long and I'm trying to find replacement parts for my kickstarter, I have already found a ball bearing and spring. But I need a screw to replace mine that has sheared at some point. The screw on the kicksta...
I aske Yamaha UK and they replied: "Whilst we cannot be exact, our records indicate that we imported approximately 889 models." Bearing in mind that many those will have been scrapped, I can only think that the UK population of TTRs is so healthy because of the many grey imports. Must have b...
I am hoping to get a 350 kit in the not-too-distant future I am reluctant to take the 325 engine out of my blue trail TTR and would rather build a road-going 350 instead. So, I am looking for a complete rolling chassis with V5 and either no engine or a blown engine. I am trying to get something for less than...
Hi All! My name's Stef and I recently joined the forum. I used to commute daily for many years and sold my last bike (a Suzuki SV650S) about 5 years due to increased whinging from the Mrs - something to do with bikes being dangerous or something - wasn't really listening but did eventually give in :( Well...

I was looking into purchasing a new shock before I sent mine off for rebuild and found this in the process. It's a different part number than the OE shock but looks identical. Figured I throw this out there for those that are dealing with shock issues. https://www.cmsnl.com/products/shock-absor...
I'm thinking of changing out the friction plates on my clutch. I'm pretty sure but not positive that the clutch plates for the WR250 are the same as the ones in the blue TTRs. Can anyone confirm that this is the case?

So I've recently fitted a shiny new FMF Powercore 4 along with a FMF quiet core. Previously I'd fitted another after market pipe but was unhappy with the results. I think it flowed worse than the stock pipe and I needed to lower the needle (or raise the clip) to the highest setting to work properly. I deci...
Hello everybody. I think i have the solution to the age old problem of chain lubrication when out riding. A very simple device that allows the rider to lube his/her (non sexist) chain, even while on the move. The simple parts being. 1 A screw top container. 2 Grass mower engine priming bulb. 3 A length o...
just back from riding the French TET from Rodez to carcassone , then across to Foix , then back to Cahor on as many GR routes as we could find , the two ttrs on the trip performed brilliantly and didn't miss a beat , just under 2k kilometres in 6 days of everything the French countryside could throw at us from...
Hi my ttr rides ok but feels like I'm thrashing it at 55mph my rear sprocket is a 49 and my front is 13. I would like a little more top end speed for road use but would like it to still have power when needed too. What would you guy recommend? What are other people running on?
I want to remove all of the old grease from the front wheel gear unit and replace it with new grease, but I don't want to damage it as it is nearly $100 from yamaha. how should I go about cleaning it out? Thanks.

Hey everybody! Gleaming with pride today as I took my first ride on my project bike since the engine overhaul was finished. I’m so happy with how it feels and sounds. So far, it’s had a valve rebuild, new timing chain and cam gears, piston and rings, honed cylinder, new clutch, rebuilt the carb, replace...
As promised in another thread regarding the removal of wheel bearings, I have now sucessfully removed the rear collars and bearings using an expanding through bolt rather than an expensive bearing puller. These are the bolts I purchased; the smaller M8 for the front wheel and the larger M12 for the r...
