Can't find this one anywhere in the 5 pages of carb posts so here goes... Bike has a very intermittent fault, will run perfectly for a long time then suddenly stops completely or misfires on mid/high throttle. The problem started after stripping the bike for frame paint and valve guide seals, but did...

Went out with a couple of mates, I was leading so we hit as many summer tracks as possible in the short period as I had to be home by 1.30pm I had the Gopro 3 on my helmet & gopro 2 on a RAM mount facing to the rear. If I had the time I could blend the front & rear videos but time is an issue & lack of skil...
I have for sale a brand new B&B off-road , rear rack , I bought 5 of these racks earlier in the year one for myself and 3 for mates so one left , it's the best rack you can buy , a thing of beauty , cost £130 plus a bit of postage , it will cost a lot more if you buy one from Aus , this is one fitted to my bike
Sorry if this is long winded, just an explanation of how I got here... Been riding since I was 4. Back in 2005, my wife gave me permission to buy a new bike. I weighed my options, a Suzuki Hayabusa or a DR400. After considering, since I already had a street bike and didn't want to deal with insurance or inspe...

Guys, I'm losing oil from a gaskey under the head on the front left hand side of the engine (near the exhaust outlet).. The bike had loose bolts all over it when I got it and I'm thinking even the engine studs could be loose. It it advisable to crank on the bolt? I've got a torque wrench but not sure the setti...
i was out riding today and I took a decent fall on stone. My guard poped off and it looks like the clutch perch is pulling apart. I haven't looked closely at it before and dont know if it is bent or broken. Any of you know?
is lithium grease safe to use on the ttr250 chain. I work with several people who use lithium grease on their chains because it is so cheap. Would this harm the chain since it is an o-ring chain, does it work well, does it last long on the trails? Thanks
Well this weekend is the SA 24Hr Trial held every year on the coldest weekend of the year, Sidecars, solos & rally class, They ride 4 laps of approx 250kms per lap & start at mid day Sat & finish mid day Sunday, so the sidecars & solos ride 24hrs but rally class does the 1st & 4th lap. A r...
Well went out today with all my mates, did a 150kms loop on the TTR, summer tracks & gravel roads, only stopped to take a couple of photos. You will be glad to hear I didn't take my gopro so you have been spared And they say bikes leave a footprint, look at what the 4x4's have done Cheers Terry

My son finally got around to telling me the bike ”wont stay running”. Sure enough only runs on choke and when i was fiddling with throttle and choke while on ks, a partial donut fell out. (Try and post Pic) I was thinking exhaust pipe gasket @ cylinder but looked for images online and part looks like coppe...
I started writing this some time ago but have been far too involved to get back to updating! So even though i start off with the stripdown in actual fact is coming together now with the engine back in.... Not sure why some of the photos have turned themselves around? Sorted for you Cubber I picked up the...
Wow - I never cease to be amazed at the resources avaialble via the interweb! I was looking on YouTube for info on replacing a MAF sensor on a Jag and saw this video on the sidebar:- It also alerted me to a tool that I haven't come across before ca...
Does anyone want a Kickstarter kit. I was going to use it but decided since I've spent far too much on my bike already I need to recoup some cost. Full kit in good working order minus the spring Dowl and seal. But I believe they are still available in the shop. No idea of current price for these so offers I gu...
Hi totally ttr, I am just about ready to order a bunch of bits for my 1993 Open enduro. The list is quite long and I'm trying to find replacement parts for my kickstarter, I have already found a ball bearing and spring. But I need a screw to replace mine that has sheared at some point. The screw on the kicksta...
I aske Yamaha UK and they replied: "Whilst we cannot be exact, our records indicate that we imported approximately 889 models." Bearing in mind that many those will have been scrapped, I can only think that the UK population of TTRs is so healthy because of the many grey imports. Must have b...
I am hoping to get a 350 kit in the not-too-distant future I am reluctant to take the 325 engine out of my blue trail TTR and would rather build a road-going 350 instead. So, I am looking for a complete rolling chassis with V5 and either no engine or a blown engine. I am trying to get something for less than...
Hi All! My name's Stef and I recently joined the forum. I used to commute daily for many years and sold my last bike (a Suzuki SV650S) about 5 years due to increased whinging from the Mrs - something to do with bikes being dangerous or something - wasn't really listening but did eventually give in :( Well...

I was looking into purchasing a new shock before I sent mine off for rebuild and found this in the process. It's a different part number than the OE shock but looks identical. Figured I throw this out there for those that are dealing with shock issues. https://www.cmsnl.com/products/shock-absor...
I'm thinking of changing out the friction plates on my clutch. I'm pretty sure but not positive that the clutch plates for the WR250 are the same as the ones in the blue TTRs. Can anyone confirm that this is the case?

So I've recently fitted a shiny new FMF Powercore 4 along with a FMF quiet core. Previously I'd fitted another after market pipe but was unhappy with the results. I think it flowed worse than the stock pipe and I needed to lower the needle (or raise the clip) to the highest setting to work properly. I deci...
Hello everybody. I think i have the solution to the age old problem of chain lubrication when out riding. A very simple device that allows the rider to lube his/her (non sexist) chain, even while on the move. The simple parts being. 1 A screw top container. 2 Grass mower engine priming bulb. 3 A length o...
