Spoke wrench size for 2003 TTR 250
Permalink

I just bought a 2019 YZ 250FX to replace my 2003 TTR250 for trail riding.  I also purchased a new spoke torque wrench.  After torquing the YZ I pulled out the TTR but the wrench sizes with the kit where too large.  I  went into my toolbox and to my surprise could not find my TTR spoke wrench.  I searched the entire garage but no luck.  Rather than ordering a new spoke wrench I would prefer to order new heads for the torque wrench.  Does anyone know the size of heads I would need  ?

I meant to check this weekend but forgot ... but this thread I think has the nipple sizes front and back: ttr250.activeboard.com/t57746383/rebuilding-wheels-wheel-and-spoke-information/

This one too: ttr250.activeboard.com/t60451301/spoke-wrench/

Probably some other good threads on the forum.

That 250FX is a crazy upgrade from the TTR, a buddy has a 2018 and put on a 325 big bore kit. But if you can't keep the rear wheel on the ground what good is it?

I use a spoke wrench similar to this one which fits both sets of spoke nipples - https://www.demon-tweeks.com/bike-it-spoke-wrench-bikspowre6/?istCompanyId=a2904180-3a7d-4e56-b876-cf81c9512180&istItemId=-xpitqaappi&istBid=t&gclid=Cj0KCQiA8_PfBRC3ARIsAOzJ2upwnhzyEfbx334gh_MGgU-3loZ6CVZaPPMmWhBQi0Uu0GxnMQce5oUaAv3PEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

I found a thread which contains the following information - not quite sure what it means though disbelief

Spoke Nipples:

As far as I understand it the nipples on the TTR are:

8g x .275 (4.00mm x 7.00mm)

9g x .275 (3.60mm x 7.00mm)
