but it still managed to consume bet part of £700, just need to choose some tyres. Thank-you to Steve @ Totallyttrs.com and Brian Sussex for master cylinder assistance 👍 Happy with the 14.52 gearing and standard Renthal height, I'm 5'8. Upped the fork oil to 5w and added an extra 15mm to the level. On...
New to me 2003 TTR250, the carb slide is sticking half way open periodically. After some reading I understand the coating on the side starts to fail, which is the likely cause of this? Does anyone know if I can just buy a new slide? If so, from where and what is the part number? Thanks, Ryan
Hi everyone , So stupid me started a restoration on my bike thinking to fix the electrical problem I had about 3 years ago :O. So I had a problem after another putting the bike back together so I finally put the thing together about 2 years ago and it was super rough so I thought of ordering a carb rebuild kit...
There are always so many questions about sprockets so i thought i'd make a list that we can all agree on (i think). This subject has so many variables like tire size ,snail position ect. to take into account but i think all info should be correct. I am prepared to be wrong if need be as it it a very complex sub...
(See here if you are looking to replace your fork seals - http://www.ttr250.com/TTR_renew_fork_seals.htm ) If your fork seals are good but you are not sure of the age or quantity of oil in the forks, it is a relatively straightforward job to change it. First up after removing the forks from your TTR is...
Afternoon all. Any of you Raid guru's know what the two holes in the front and rear of the toolbox are for. I see there's a drain at the bottom, the other 2? Cheers Andy
My engine has a lovely clutch and gearbox and the alternator works. That's about all the good I can say about it so I either need a blue bike with a good engine in it, or a good engine. Not looking for something that looks showroom fresh at silly money, it will be doing 1000s of miles per year on the lanes so...
I really like my 2005 TTR250, it was the one bike I have always regretted not buying new when I had the chance. I bought this one 3 years ago having run a TT600RE for quite a few years, I ran them both for while whilst deciding which one to keep. For me, the 250 was the clear winner, lighter, 6 gears, better on t...
Has anyone got a picture of the master cylinder plunger with the rubber seals correctly in place please? I've just rebuilt mine in what I thought was the logic way round and I cannot get any pressure whatsoever. Thanks, Mark
Hi there, Has anyone found a source for replacement springs with alternative spring rates or succesfully revalved the forks? I have read that the internals from the wr250r are a good upgrade? -- Edited by dlee22 on Tuesday 13th of July 2021 12:14:32 PM
Hi all,I thought some of you might be interested to see the Enduristan Sandstorm 4S tank bag on my blue tanked TTR.I was recently looking for a way of carrying extra kit for an overnight stay after a day's trail riding without upsetting my standing riding position, while still carrying enough to be use...
Hi folks, I have a bit of play in the rear suspension linkage. It looks like just 2 of the bushes. Measured at the rear axle to the mudguard it's about 4mm. I'm more than happy to replace the necessary parts, just wondering if I can expect zero movement once completed? Thanks in advance
Just a brief hello from me in North Yorkshire. I've just purchased a 1996 JDM TTR 250 Raid. which in MO is in bloody good nick. It doesn't look like it's seen any dirt with sod all scuffing on it. I'm going to pull it apart and give all the bearing a once over and regrease. The oil in the forks could well be...
Went for a Ride to Raglan, on the West Coast of New Zealand’s North Island, recently and am posting a couple of photos.Haven‘t done a Forum Message from the start for a few years so hope I’ve got it right. It was my last long “Legal Ride” before my Road Tax goes onto “hold” for the Winter months. Hello everyone. Finally I found a bike I wanted. It's arriving in few days. Things I will need to sort first is mirrors - the bike don't have any. As my budget is tight, Double Take is not an option, and perhaps not a necessity for now - mainly it will be thumping on paved roads. Anyone had good success w...
Hi all, not really a modification but fairly rare for a ttr250... My ttr250 came with a decompression lever etc but i removed it due to the fact it leaked. I would like to use my kick starter more often however its typically stated on here that it does not turn the engine over quick enough to be really eff...
Just tried the majesty swap starter motor repair. Perfect fit, just take the back of yours and fit it to the majesty one. I bought the majesty 250, came from Italy and less than 40 quid including delivery This was not my idea, but another forum members and it is great that he gave us all the heads up on th...
Got the TTR out on Sunday for a ride in steep bush in Blackwood (Vic). Rode with a couple of blokes on new Beta 4 strokes, a 350 and a 450. Lots of technical single track and big hills and slippery clay . The TTR kept up no worries at all, actually outclimbed them a couple of times on the loose rocky hills...
I've just replaced the seals in my front forks on a TTR 250 Raid. When re-assembling, the instructions are to use 550mm of oil then adjust the level to 130mm from the top of the inner fork tube (fully compressed). However, it then took another 40mm of oil to reach this level - total 590mm. Is this because t...
OEM Carburetor, great shape. Few hints of minute surface rust, but other then that it's in great shape. Didn't clean or rebuild, just removed from the bike, and lightly cleaned the outside. $200.00 OBO + shipping. Thanks. -- Edited by Pateras on Tuesday 27th of October 2020 07:52:31 PM
