Ive recently replaced the lower carb o-rings, seal and diaphragm and set up the carb with 50 pilot, I think 142 or 147 main (couldn't read clearly) with pilot screw 2 turns out, twin air filter (snorkel still present) and dominator end can. It starts up almost immediately but the popping on the overru...
Hi all, i noticed that every couple of days the breather cap is coming off and the bike runs bit rough , so my question is can i glue this off? is this something which i will need access to eventually? also how do you usually refill the rear brake reservoir ? its located in a place where its very hard to pour...
I've had my TTR for about 8 years now. Whilst I'm beginning to fall to bits it isn't so it probably time it found a new home. New chain and sprockets fitted, battery last year, shock just been rebuilt and some specialist welding carried out to strengthen the frame. (The frame had been powder coated by th...
New member here and someone who has been looking for a dual purpose bike for a while but until recently didn't even know the TTR existed (sorry). I'm from NE UK (near Darlington) and recently picked up a blue TTR250 which is looking like a nice little project, low miles, some spares, a leaky carb and pr...
Hi there, I just finished the 350 rebuild a few weeks ago and took it out for a spin for 15 miles and decided the jetting was too far out. I adjusted to 147 50 bottom clip starts fine, however the down pipe started glowing and therefore running lean. I checked my timing thinking it may be slightly off and i...

Hi All After meeting my girlfriend Roberta in Kyrgyzstan 2018 and impressing her with my overlanding ttr250 so much she moved moved from Milan to Northamptonshire, England In August 2020. She then decided to buy a completely disassembled Ttr250 Raid. After rebuilding that she then purchased a co...
Sold now. Hi there, I have some ttr250 wheels for sale, the front has original paint marks, basically brand new disk but no bearings. The rear has poor paint and, good disk, bearings. I will throw these on eBay if there is no interest. They have got to be worth £130 as a spare set I'd have said. Bas...
My 1995 model was running great when I did a 200 km ride 3 weeks ago, now it won’t start. I checked spark and compression to find only 65psi. Have checked carby and valve seating plus piston and rings but found nothing apparently wrong. Now out of ideas. ian, Australia
Not sure if I ever posted this on here, yes it's on the WRR & the TTR may have been better as it seems to get better traction on hills, anyhow Wet gully track in the Victorian high country is between Harriotville & Bright & not too hard but in saying that the BMW1200 had issues. As per normal the...
I just found this excellent video! The only criticisms I have are that (a) he forgot to put the solenoid earth strap on the rear starter motor bolt before fitting the oil line etc. and (b) forcing the carb in like that isn't good as it is quite likely to separate the rubber from the aluminium stub on the in...
I'm not much of a mechanic but I can replace stuff, about 2 years ago I took this apart to restore and it kinda got stalled, and now I got a rebuilt kit and changed all the parts in the carb. But it's still running very rough,it smooths out for a sec but stalls right...
Hello, kind of a re join as I never actually left but did take a rather too lengthy pause from bikes. On the plus side we now live in rural west Wales fairly close the Strata Florida if anyone is passing or indeed need of help, etc. I still have the bluey which I almost sold but bottled at the last moment. So he...
I've just completed a carb rebuild (with All Balls kit) but now have a leak from the diaphragm cover. I'm trying to avoid the expense of a new diaphragm so wondered if it also acts as a gasket, sealing against the cover? If it doesn't act as a gasket, then I assume replacing it isn't going to help. I've atta...
Hello from the Netherlands..
Hi there, good to see there is an active community for the ttr250.
I have been a proud owner for a few weeks and am happy with it.
I'm going to drive TET routes with it instead of my XTZ 750
I have a long experience with Xt's and XTZ engines and this feels like coming back t...

Hey all,domski1 wrote. I know this is slightly off your thread topic but how about trying to to find the different models / colour schemes. As far as I am aware the newer blue ttr colour schemes are roughly all the same but on the older ones there is possibly a few rare examples around as found with the bla...

Wanted: a pair of rear footrests and mounting brackets for a Raid. Please let me know if you have such a thing, and want to sell. I am in East Midlands UK.
I will try and keep this a bit short... Bike: 2005 TTR250 - Aussie spec. Was doing some general cleaning on my Original carb that had done bugger all work from new (700km's) (it had a blocked pilot jet), ended up breaking the float tower off, had sourced a used carb. I believe this used carb is the 'older' s...
