My blue ttr250 has been standing a long time. It would not start, checked the plug had sparks, so following the excellent guide removed the carburetor. I took the carb to be cleaned and asked about the state of it. I was told it was green and manky inside. Refitted the carb, replaced the plug. It wou...
Hi all, First off, a quick introduction. I’m Ollie, and I’ve had my TTR for a while now (a year or 18 months, can’t remember exactly). It’s a K reg metal tank version. I use it for green laning so it gets a bit battered and bruised, but I always give it a lot of TLC after each trip! There’s one slightly odd f...

The old beach ridden bars replaced by a resprayed set. Only major job the beast has had its entire life is a camchain. Uses no oil , just a couple of puffs of smoke on start up after sitting for a week.

First half decent day down our way and blew the cobwebs out of the bikes (and us) with a day ride out Gembrook way in Bunyip State Forest. My TTR250 and a mate on his TTR600. Most of the tracks were still closed but we managed to find a few open gates and managed 100km for the day. Amazed at how dry it was up ther...

Sorry about the bad pun but I have spent a few hours this afternoon trying to sort out a TTR250 front brake master cylinder and it's sort of making me feel a bit hysterical My mate Jim has a collection of shiny chromed up vintage(ish) Jap bikes and spends quite a bit of time fettling them and trying variou...
Police rang me and said they found my stolen ttr supermoto from months ago, so so happy Quite a bunch of stuff to fix, including a new seat but happy it still runs and rides. Going to fix it back up and this time get insurance, a tracker, and multiple locks
I finally had a chance to try the TTR for a day trip. My mate on his TTR planned the route. We covered +/-230kms for the day. Some tar, but about 70% gravel and real jeep tracks. Overall consumption was 21kms/l. This included 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear technical for long sections. A basic route plan could...

Hello. I acquired my TTR 2 months ago, and have been wondering what this shim is for? Is this a big bore kit any of you are familiar with? No engine problems so far. Just curious as I know this bike has been heavily modded and the previous owner also has no idea. Dunno how many hands she's been passed to. :ha...
My brother in North Dakota sent me on a goose chase looking for ... wait for it ... fig jam. The good man misses some goodies from back home (South Africa) and in particular a very specific fig jam, that the good people of North Dakota seems to be enjoying in equal measure. So I jumped on the TTR Saturday,...
Just a few picks of the TTR before it went to a new home, a few things I'll miss, 6 gears, a really nice smooth clutch, and the almost stealth quality of the engine, it just purred, that the most I think So thanks lads for all your help and advise over the years, it was always a pleasure to drop into the forum....

I'm taking my forks apart because one of the stanchions is bent from a bad fall I had in Portugal. I need a special tool to take it apart and although it's possible to do it without, I prefer to know it's done properly when I put it back together. I have an alternative reason here for wanting a tool, I recentl...

My TTR250 stock exhaust has a distinct bend/kink where the stainless trim covered pipe section joins the main body of the exhaust. Are they meant to be like this or are they supposed to be straight? -- Edited by Benjah on Thursday 21st of September 2017 01:03:57 AM
Further to owning a 1993 TTR250 OE from late 2014 to April 2015 for a project to ride from the UK to Portugal to off-road and build a 19ft diameter Mongolian yurt, I have just bought another TTR in Queensland, Australia. I'm a documentary photographer and concentrate on photographing and interviewin...
Hey guys, I work away at an evil place called olympic dam. However there is plenty of good riding up here - great red sand for miles. My TTR needs to be geared down to have more power to ride through this thick sand. Does anyone have any reccomendations for a ratio where I would be able to sit on 100 km/h all da...
a nice straight looking 2003 ttr on ebay at the moment and not a lot of miles with nine bids -- Edited by skyrider on Monday 18th of September 2017 07:46:37 PM-- Edited by skyrider on Monday 18th of September 2017 07:55:47 PM
So after what appears to be months of sorting paper work and counting the numbers it would appear the men and women at the top have a new plan after May 20th next year all motor vehicles older than 1978 will not just have free road tax but will not need to present it for a MOT Test each year as well. So 40 year ol...
