So my wheels have a number of holes in the rims. I assume for rim locks as I can't think of anything else. I don't have rimlocks but will the holes cause issues? Won't the inner tube try to get out? It hasn't done as I've pumped them up but i wouldn't want it to change it's mind at speed. If they need blocking u...
Went out today on the WRR, testing out my new boots, 170kms around the dirt roads in the Adelaide hills, 75% of the ride was dry & then it poured, quick stop to put my under jacket on, good traction & some lovely twisty roads, came across a couple of riding buddies so we had a chat. Couple of photos f...
Took the ttr out its rained just enough to lay the dust so a bit different with some bits being a little slippery a combination of fire trails single track and not quite tracks Great start to the week -- Edited by ttboof on Monday 10th of June 2019 02:58:48 AM
Thought it was time to put up a build thread on my TTR. I got it as a low km tidy stocker with a GYTR pipe.. I bought purely as a trail bike for my then teenage kids to ride in the bush. I had recently downsized from a series of 250 2 strokes and 400's / 450's to my first Yamaha, a WR250F. 250 four strokes a...
A great wee first over night trip away a couple of weeks back! First of many, I hope - lots of fun!! A good mix of bikes too - everything from an Africa Twin to a Honda 125!! https://youtu.be/tRsu8xdthY4
So I recently did a service on my TTR after I bought it. The manual says 10w30 or 20w40, but I went with 10w60 (local motorcycle store is pretty high end so they mostly cater to hardcore enthusiasts). Is this ok? I've read on some online forums that it may cause more wear over time on low temps like at startu...
Hi All I went for my first ride on the bike after building the new one and I ditched the lowering link this time. First ride without one. AND holy hell doesn't that make a difference. It shocked me (nice pun Leigh!!) how different it was. I've always ridden with a 2" lowering link and thought the bike h...
Hi, I fitted the jets from the all balls kit, however the bike is running rough. it accelerates ok but pops through the silencer, on steady throttle it hesitates but no prblem starting. it takes a bit of time sometime for the tickover to settle down. Rob
Yet another problem I have encountered.... I have serviced the carb (ultrasonic cleaned and All balls service kit fitted) and the bike sounds and runs lovely....until I hit a long strech of uphill road in high gear and the bike eventually cuts out. It seems the carb is being starved of fuel. The bike wi...
Hi all,During deceleration/over run I get a popping/backfiring. The engine also hunts when I'm at low load/low revs. It also jerks when I'm just rolling the throttle - such as rolling up to a T junction and gently pulling away without stopping. Everything is fine when I'm loading up the engine wi...
There are a few areas of Devon that don't get ridden often as the lanes are quite far apart but today we gave some attention to the Tiverton area.We met at mine (me and brother Trev on TTRs, Jim on Djebel, Kev on Honda 250 and we met Mike (DR350) at our brunch stop in Tiverton. We rode for just over 5 hours, co...
Took the WRR out today for a loop around the dirt / gravel roads, first time I've ridden the WRR since breaking my ankle in the Victorian High country late March. Not great weather with a high of around 12c & showers, I missed all the rain until around 5kms from home so all good. Really enjoyed the WRR,...

Due to a lack of use (sorry - bought a KTM 400exc) I'm selling my 2004 TTR250. I purchased the bike in August 2011 (5 previous owners). Just over 12,000 miles, good condition, recent oil change, good tyres and chain, lowering link fitted (have original), sump guard, owners manual, some spares (CRD sil...
Hello good ttr folks, Edit: Upon checking back with reality I lowered the price to 2500. I'm selling my lovely blue ttr250. It's the 2001 model with just over 2000 original miles on the clock. The engine is virtually just run in and it rides lovely. Has been on the lanes but ridden responsibly and the TRF...
Went to start up this morning, cranked over, fired but did not catch tried again ,now cranking faster than normal no sign of starting. Checked with the kick start, by hand no resistance worth mentioning. Has anyone had this problem, there was no unusual noise at all and it was running perfectly w...
A mate (Big Jim) recently had the same op as me and had a stent fitted but had some additional issues so it's taken longer for him to get back on his trail bike. So a mutual friend (Hamster) arranged a gentle re-introduction to the lanes and I was delighted to be invited along as he really knows the local lan...
I'll consider anything especially after I've posted a question about what will actually fit my 1993 OE. Please send me a PM with what you have -- Edited by TTRfan on Sunday 26th of May 2019 10:50:35 AM
ok im thinking of getting a ttr 250 and turning it into a supermoto, so apart from the outlay of the bike I would need supermoto wheels and maybe a 325 engine upgrade and what else would be needed ? . and also I think I would want (seeing as im a shorty) is a lowering link preferably to be the same height as my se...
Greetings all, here's some geeky things to talk about, tell us all your favourite 2 Android or OIS apps and why. Make sure you put the authors name so you can get the right one. So many people cheat when a good app comes around and use the same name. My Phone, Sony T2 UltraOpen Source Camera By Mark Harmon...
So here we are after 8 years. As you can see it's nearly finished as I've put the tank rubbers on now. Actually a forum member who's name will be secret in case he gets inundated with jobs built the engine up for me. [img]https://i.imgur.com/zU2KcL...
