Hello everyone, just bought a TTR from 2005 but the speedometer was not mounted. Now I try to put it back but it seems not to fit (the holes are not aligned). Can one of you take a picture of the mounting points of the speedometer so I understand how it should me mounted? Thanks in advance for your help! Bori...
Just recorded a vid of my TTR - just got it last week. Sometimes there's a heavy clunk when I kill the engine, sometimes no clunk, sometimes just a small one. I'm hoping someone with experience of these things can shed some light. Thanks, Paul -- Edited by PaulF...
First ride on the TTR since I stripped it last week, I was chasing a handling issue mainly on turn in, I had checked the swingarm for movement, checked the steering head bearings, tried different tyres etc. After riding the bike last week I stripped the steering, the lower steering bearings were bugge...
My son came home for the weekend we got the Dr and ttr out in the local forest starting to get a bit dusty. Got out for about four hours of tighter stuff
Heidenau K60 in 130/80/18 on the left. Pirelli MT21 in 120/80/18 Michelin Tracker in 100/100/18 on the right. These are the only tyres I've tried so far so the comments are relative to these three tyres in UK conditions. I am searching for a green lane/TET tyre. Heidenau's were comfortable and fun on r...

Hi, I'm Paul, I just got my first TTR250 last week, for greenlaning round Gloucestershire. It's a 2000 blue one with the plastic tank, although it has the purple wheels too. Not sure I believe the mileage (8k, they must have been very hard miles!) it's a bit tattier than I first thought so expecting to fi...

It's not a TTR but is a twofiddy......... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8abVgo0JOA If you have idle moments you might enjoy Roz's adventures (there are other vids). She is quite a card and very much a talker - and not a bad adventure riding blogger. Ciao. I hope you are all covid free and wel...
I bought my son, a TTR-250 2001 model. He is 6'3 and the previous owner was 5' nothing. He had cut most of the foam out of the seat and the vinyl seat cover had perished. So I bought some foam and Vinyl from Clark Rubber in Sydney. The foam was cheap because in was an off cut. I had to glue two pieces together...

I've only just got my 2001 TTR and have noticed a problem with the speedo. When I take off for a ride the speedo needle doesn't move but the odometer is clicking over, which suggests to me that the drive cable is doing its job. After some time and a solid whack on the speedo it jumps to life and is OK for the res...

Hi! anyone knows if I can use a plastic tank’s engine on a bike with a metal tank? the only tricky point seems to be the speedo pickup, that is different... can I fit the digital pickup of the earlier metal tank bike on a later engine? thanks R
I was lucky to find a '95 TTR250 Raid, it was not officially released here in the Philippines. Shifting is a little rough. I already ordered a new clutch cable, I hope that fixes the problem. Also speedometer is dead. Looking for a way to convert it to a mechanical one.
Hi. I m using my TTR OE mostly for commuting in the city and some light enduro riding. From time to time, I ride with a pillion on the bike and naturally the bike kinda ´sits´. I stiffen the rear shock and the ride is ...ok but It makes me wonder if I m damaging the subframe by riding with pillions since its suc...

Still getting a jet black spark plug after carb refurbishment where I replaced all rubbers and jets and adjusted fuel/air mixture. What could it be other than the carb? Or could it be I need a new carb all together?
Stripping down an engine tonight, I used the "jam the sprocket with a socket" technique - worked a treat An odd thing, the nut needed a 32mm spanner (I haven't got a deep socket that size) and I am sure that nearly every other sprocket nut I have encountered is 30mm I will try and remember to check it out...
