Hello All, Looking at my chain and sprocket and I notice the sprockets don't look too bad but the chain isn't sitting on the teeth properly, as if the links are too short. On further inspection it appears to have supersprox 50T and a 13T front.Sounds like a nice set up for the dirt but will it work? does any...

Anyone got any side grab rails or whatever they are for a raid spare. Paint doesn't matter, I'll get them powdered, but they must be straight at least. Cheers Spud.
Hi all, i have a white ttr and and i will need to rebuild the engine. I have two crankcases left and right that i bought from Brian sometime ago as the spring return post broke on mine and my question is do i need anything special in the way of tools to remove the crankshaft from mine to refit to the new crankc...
gday guys, just thought i would ask people what options i have for adding a better exhaust system to the TTR250. I have a 2011 model, and noticed that there are lots of FMF exhausts on ebay, but they all say they fit models up to 2006. will these fit the 2011 model also? If so, what can i expect from an exhaust...
Hello again, ok i have owned my ttr250 for 3 1/2 years and i just want to know something, When i blip the throttle really fast when idling it bogs, Is this a normal occurance? or it is the jetting, It has a standard 147 main jet (aussie) and 52.5 pilot jet, and a Fmf powercore 4 exhaust, it seems to be running r...
Now I have seen a rather fancy all singing and dancing Bash plate/ sump guard on recent trip to TTR Towers, but wondered if any other guards fit (have seen an XT500 guard going cheap) has anyone had any joy with other OEM gaurds fitting, or being easily adapted? Piccies always a bonus.
Steve Parish is an ex-TTR250 rider and has some wonderful adventures in the Australian wild.See his blog page http://steve.businesscraft.com for a ride he did on the weekend at the Zig-Zag Railway near Lithgow NSW - if this interests you. Makes me a bit jealous to be honest..... Brian
I have finally managed to obtain a set of grab rails to replace mine that were missing when I purchased my bike. They are sound but almost redundant of paint. I am going to give them a quick light blast in the grit blaster in work tomorrow. I then intend to either have them either powder coated or just u...
Hi TTR folk. I'm a TRF member and currently smoke out the lanes of Devon on an early KTM250EXC (2stroke). Fantastic bike in the dirt but quite horrible on tarmac. To be honest I'd happily trade some weight for road maners and quiet. So I've joined your forum to learn more about the TTR and hopefully find o...
I seem to be dribbling oil out from near the starter motor on my white raid model, is there a common failure point somewhere round there? It's not the output shaft seal. There's no severe bang from the sprag clutch when i stop the bike. Hope someone can advise! Thanks Mark
Hello all, Im on a mission to get my 06 TTR running smoothly - seems to idle a bit rough, cleaned carb, new plug, pilot jet was 9 turns out!! manual says 1.5 turns what seems to work for you guys? Im in New England , Connecticut about 325 ft above sea level, Any thoughts / suggestions ?? Thanks all best as a...
Hi Don't suppose anyone knows the intervals for a oil and filter change on a TTR air cooled 2003 model? Also the capacity of engine oil it holds ? Any help would be great :) Thanks Dan
I haven't been out on the Devon lanes for a long time so jumped in on a short novice run on Saturday and was joined by fellow TTR rider Martyn (Cubber on this forum). The TTR performed perfectly but my winter clothing wasn't quite what I had hoped. My Frank Thomas over trousers wouldn't fit over the top of m...
Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 2001 TTR 250 & so far I'm having great fun checking out the nearby lanes & tracks. The locals are a lot more bike tolerant over here, so that's a bonus.
Perhaps 70mph is a little fast for TTR250 Raid. 18 November 2011, 6:15pm my birthday, A45 dual carriageway, 70ish mph, bit of a mechanical bang, automatically pulled in the clutch and freewheeled as far as possible. Hmmmm? Starter nice spin . . . Hmmmm started pushing. At home bit of a hole in rear of le...
Well it's ready to go now, my excellent TTR needs to go 2004 (04) with T&T until Feb 2012 13k miles Well maintained Anyone looking for a TTR is in the lucky position to buy a really good one. When I bought it in February 2009 it had only seemed to have been used on the road. The mileage read 10297 (yes, pro...
Hello All, Just done a deal at the weekend which involved getting rid of my DRZ and picking up a lovely (read into that a bit tatty) '04 TTR. Unluckily though, looking at this forum and associated works, I think I may have bought a bit of a pup. But that's a story for a different thread. Any way glad to be on b...

Guys, My chain and sprockets got a little rusty last winter when riding in the salt to and from work and laning a couple of times. There is very little wear but the chain has rusted now and when it gets past a certain point there is no recovering it. I've not used my bike all year due to injury however I want to...
A friend wants to know if anyone knows how to lower the TTR 3-4". He has installed a Kubalink, but this device seems to have lowered it less than an inch.
A new year, but a few jobs were required to get the bike fit for use. First off was a filter and oil change. I bought a 5 litre bottle of Motul 5100 semi synthetc ester oil 10w-40 and got 10% TRF discount also. I know 5 litres is a tad much and the oil is considered too good for TTRs, but it's exactly what I use in t...
