Welcome to TTR land, Chris.

I guess, since you're updating with supermoto gear, that you're not going to ride many trails. no

I look forward to seeing the pictures.

What a pleasant surprise, Chis. wink

Thank you for showing us your bike - it looks in good nick for a '94 example.

What front brake are you considering - an XJ600 Diversion, perchance?

Martyn

I'm not sure on the wheels and disc yet but will be putting a k5 Gsxr 750 master cylinder on it as got a spare one sitting in garage and need to work out which front caliper to put on with a custom bracket to the forks. The gearing is going to be changed to 13-50 or 52 I need to find some who can do the header pipe mod for me

I dont think the early bikes suffer from restricted flow in the header pipe. And maybe try a 14 48 set up as that will give your gearbox and sprocket an easier life.

Looks like a lovely tidy bike for the money.

It is a tidy one for its year and it only has 13180 km's on the clock as to the gearing I've seen on here that the 13-50 is a good set up for the way I ride as all my bikes I've owned spend more time on one wheel then it does on two lol Cheers for the nice welcomes and comments

A belated welcome Chris!

Smart bike - love those handguards - they look very much like original Yamaha wrap around guards which are built to withstand nuclear explosions - only ever seen one pair on a Raid. Guess they were offered as an optional extra.

Good luck with the TTR. It is great to see so many older TTRs in such great condition - classic trailbikes of the present and future biggrin

As everyone is saying, that looks really tidy.

I'm about to put 13 48 gearing on my raid, a lot of people seem to go for 14 52 and I'll be interested to know how you like 13 50. I guess the ultimate low gear would be 13 52, which I assume would significantly restrict top speed.

Cheers

Pete

Hi brian thanks for the welcome and as to your question you have a very good eye they are the original yamaha wrap around guards

as is the rest of the bike original which i like but i will be trying to update the looks of it with new plastic's as you can see by the supermoto front guard

next up will be a yz125/250 rear mudguard / black seat cover / supermoto wheels and brakes and upside down forks /full exhaust system if i can find one along with dyno jetted / 13-50/52 gearing.

i'm will also but stripping the bike down bare when the winter come at the end of the year to replace all bearings / bushes / have the suspension reworked to my liking aswell as have the frame / swingarm and all the other bits and bob's powder coated black like i use to with afew trial bikes i've owned in the past. smile
