could any of the lads put me onto the best Yamaha bike breakers in the U.K who specialise in Yamaha. I'm after a fuel tank for a 1987 SRX 600 that a mate owns down here in OZ. thanks lads.
Dont know any history on this TTR , picked it up for the wheels and other items. Engine oil is full , but that could have been filled after the explosion. Barrels been honed and looks ok but im no mechanic. Any ideas what may have happend.
So, shortly after resolving my engine ping/knock sound by replacing the carbuerator joint, me and my brother on an identical 2000 TTR-250 went on a 3 day trail with a couple trucks called the Dusy Ershim in Northern California. Exactly half way through the trail with about 15 miles to civilization...
Hello, Do you have any trouble with the split link on the bikes? I was surprised to see one mine. Cheers Bill -- Edited by masterbill on Sunday 11th of October 2015 04:51:55 PM
Hi everyone, I just bought a TTR 250 and I need to lower it. I am going to fit a kouba link (and scoop out the seat). I am wondering if the bike would handle best if I also fit handlebar risers, so that I can lower further the front forks? I have been lowering many bikes over the years (starting with my 2 Versy...
Regular forum readers will know of Robin Webb of Salt & Gold video fame. Anyways up, Robin has recently had his wheels rebuilt to take wider tyres and also rebuilt the seat himself to better suit his needs ahead of shipping it out to the USA for his next desert/mountain adventure in a few weeks time....
I bought some Aprilia RS125 three spoke wheels, because they're cheap and I'm poor at the minute, to fit to my TTR. I guessed from experience (having fitted the later Y-spoke wheels to a WR200) that the hubs would be skinny enough to fit in the TTR forks and swingarm and I was right- phew! You will also be a...
Looking for changed the steel Raid swingarm for a lighter alloy one. Anyone got one tucked away? Also need the longer axle bolt to go with it.. Regards, Malcolm.
Catch the Norwalk Virus (or Norovirus). I have lost over half a stone in the last couple of days. The downside is the projectile vomiting, pooing water with very little control over when and where, belching sulphur fumes and generally feeling rubbish Hope it goes away soon!!!!! Brian
I got my 2003 TTR250 last year for riding the trails near my cottage at Paudash Lake near Bancroft Ontario Canada. It is completely stock except for the Moose Racing skid plate and a small tie down rack for a tool kit. I like the stock 13/52 gearing and can't imagine going with a higher ratio like you guy...

What was the occasion on October 1st 2013 when 12 members decided to log in at once?! It wasn't even a weekend it was a Tuesday.. Were they all signed in just to read Sidetrack magazine's TTR article? The most users that sign in these days seems to be 7 or 8 and that is only very occasionally...
Is it possible to change the valve stem seals with the head in situ (piston tdc of course)? How close is the piston/valve clearance at tdc to hold the valves in place? Has anyone tried? Cheers, Simon.
Hi. Looking for confirmation please. I have oil bubbling out around the exhaust clamp area , a very small amount but steady, and of course a degree of smoke as it burns off on the pipe. I have cleaned the area, well, replaced fhe little decomp hole plug, checked rocker gaskets, definitely no leaks th...
