I had never heard of JIS until a few moments ago! Interesting reading. I am assuming our TTRs use JIS fasteners. Brian Cross-head style fasteners can be found on all Japanese motorcycles. Most people will associate this style of cross-head to a Phillips style bit. This is incorrect. These cross-hea...

Found some more old pics Back in time the 70's with hair and a t140 made it into the 80's with half of it an nasty addiction to speed she would pull well past 185 mph on the drag strip The 90's saw a play with three wheels as well
Found slight movement in lower shock bearing so changed it.. Scored up Did rear wheel bearings too, the two on the sprocket side came out stuck on the spacer but they soon collapsed when I squeezed em up in a vice
I learnt this off ttrsteve when he was here on Monday. To prevent water/moisture getting into the airbox when power washing with the seat of, put a glove over the snorkel I used to stuff rags in there but this is such a better idea! The other glove fits nicely over the exhaust if you haven't got a bung for...
I last saw my TTR parked in the undergound car park where I live at about 11pm on Monday 31st August 2015. I got that unwated call this morning at 8.30am when a neighbour noticed the bike missing and damage to her car. I reported it to the police but I'm not expecting it back. I thought I was alright securing...
Trying to swap out the kouba lowering link for the original length. I've taken the plastic caps off the swing arm to remove the 17mm bolts and sleeve. Trouble is, the bolt and sleeve just spin around. I can see the sleeve has two flat edges, but obviously whatever surface was holding is still has been kna...

Hi guys, I am collecting a 1993 TTR tomorrow. I have just sold my XT225 Serow as it was too small and a little too slow for what I want to use it for off-road. A friend of mine has a lovely 93 TTR and I came by one almost identical, albeit needing a lot of work. The engine is rattle-free and mostly it needs a total...
After trying, unsuccessfully, to modify the original loom the bikes sat for over a year. I finally decided to try and sort it so now im looking for a complete loom. Anyone have one?..

When I pull the clutch in the noise disappears immediately, and immediately returns when let back out again. But if I pull over briefly and pull the clutch in thus letting th...
My bike was blowing a lot of oil smoke out the exhaust. I put new valve stem seals in and checked the piston and rings. All seemed ok, so reassembled, but the bike is still burning a lot of oil. Compression test is 150 psi. What would be the next thing to check? The valves all looked ok, apart from the exh...
