Hello guys. Lately it has been very difficult to downshift on my Raid. Upshifting is easy and smooth. However when i try to down shift, the lever just sticks there, and i have to step very hard on it to change the gear. This only happens when the engine is running. At 1st gear, even when I pull the clutch all...

Everything seems great except the motor runs so Damn hot. It won't run choked at all but runs perfect otherwise. I put about 30 miles on her tonight but I replaced the float valve and fixed the air leaks, runs really strong. What else should I look at?
Hi All, I have only just had my TTR and the front brake was useless, I have stripped it,cleaned it and bled it , It was still only somewhere between death-wish and feeble. I was going to invest in new rubbers seals pads etc but the sight glass on the master cylinder was leaking and I think the pathetic brake...

My name is Simon, and I have an obsession with headlights. There, out and proud My friends and I frequently find ourselves returning from green laning trips in the dark, sometimes 2 hours or more back from Wales. I've been searching for good headlight units for years, but the Open Enduro has a half cand...
Brought my 2004 bike from a fellow TRF member as my 'orange' bike is off the road awaiting the rear shock to be fixed, been out twice so far and love it, this will be my new weekend fun bike from now on, here it is pictured below at a stop on this morning out Green Laning in Hertfordshire.
Hi, I noticed from reading other posts that some people have fitted CO2s on their TTRs. I just wanted to check what sizes people fitted. I has some on my Serow and they were excellent but when I fitted the back one I had to change the sprocket size cos their was so little clearance. Thanks
I have a front cowling with what appears to be a non-standard headlight unit that has been siliconed into it. The wiring has been adapted with a standard Yamaha plug fitted so it plugs straight in. The cowling is in a right old state but it bolts on ok. I think it's a tighter fit than the original light unit...

I recently bought a WR250X after selling one of my TTR250's. It does not have brush guards fitted but I have looked into fitting the same ones the TTR250 has because I like their simplicity and only want them for a little wind protection. I know there are many other after-market kits out there that woul...
Had a tinker with the bike today, i fitted the new starter switch i bought from Brian, soldered it together and jobs a good un, while i was at it i fitted the 27w led flood lamps i bought, quick road test tonight and wow, i can now drive at night safely. I also modified the front sprocket cover, the build up of...
Hello guys. A few days ago I changed the piston rings. When I put everything back together, the bike ran fine - the mechanical parts at least. However, the odometer refuses to turn on, and the left/right signals do not work. N indicator still work, as well as the head light. When I signal left/right, the...

Ok, so not quite the mammoth overlanding trip that other owners have been lucky enough to post here, but this was the first shake-down trip of our TTR's before taking them on our own 2000+ KM adventure to the Spanish Pyrenee's later this year. Our trip last October was simple. To test the new and luggag...
Hi, Has anyone out there got a Raid or other larger tank with matching seat if necessary to go on an OE model. I am not bothered about the condition so long as it is servicable as it is a cheap dirt bike. I plan on riding it from the Peaks to Wales soon and need to cut down on the fuel stops. I have read the post...

Fitting a replacement bump stop can only be done after removing the shock absorber from the TTR. Clean the shock absorber as best you can to make it easier/nicer to work on. The first thing to be done to get at the bump stop is to remove the spring. I don't think there is any alternative to compressing the s...
