Rear Brake leaver Mod

Greeting All

So I finally got sick of not being able to reach the rear brake pedal without moving my foot forward
I have pretty big feet and when standing on the balls of your feet (which I do all the time) there's no way you can reach the pedal

When on tricky terrain or especially descents I just want to be able to cover the brake and not move my foot, It can be dangerous suddenly having to shift your weight to get to the brake, also it takes time, just a second, but hey a second can make a difference between a crash and not ?

anyway added the extra tab as in the pics

Back in place and looks like I was lucky, seems to be in the exact right place for my boot

Yeah good mod that. I'm not all that brilliant at rear braking or changing gear when stood up on pegs. On descents I tend to use the front brake and lean backwards.

Looks as if Markvan will be next in the Guru club ha.

I have another mod planned for the gear lever soon.

I used to have a CT110 postie bike and the gear change system on that was great

4 gears down N,1,2,3,4 and 4 up 4,3,2,1,N

the up direction was controlled by your heel, down was of course your toe, a real heal+toe changer, worked a treat on the Honda.

that way I can stay in control of the bike on the balls of my feet and not shift around all the time

Also being on the wrong side of 50 now I get a leg cramp sometimes after a long day ride and up-changes can get a bit hard to do sometimes

no Oh Well !

I like it, i may even copy it. It is a pain having to keep repositioning your foot to brake.

I don't stand on the balls of my feet so it's not a issue I
have come across...
but lifting yer foot for the gear lever can be a prob at times while standing...
