Rear shock
(Preview)
Ours needs a rebuild, is there one off another bike that would be considered an upgrade? Or is a rebuild a better idea, also I have read somewhere the enduro version has a higher seat height is this due to the suspension or just the seat? a bit more height wouldn't go a miss and if it's only a change of linkag...

(Preview)
Ok so am wondering what you guys think, the TTR is in need an MOT to get her back on the road but I am unsure what other work she needs to get her "road" safe. Does yout TTR pop at all while off and cooling down?
(Preview)
My TTR had a popping cough prior to a carb rebuild and some other minor maint. Pretty much all of the popping cough is gone but I am still hearing a pop and tick while the bike is turned off and cooling down.....sort of like a car does after a drive on a hot summer day. Is this normal?

Hullo all. I realise this is the reverse to the usual 'upgrade', but does anyone know what the rating of standard weight fork springs is? I've got heavier ones fitted, and as I get older and thus even slower, I need to go back to standard. I'll also be working in some rocky country next year, so plush is ver...

Road biased tyre size and recommendation?
(Preview)
I'm increasingly using my TTR250 on the road (90% on and 10% off) and it's time to change to a more road biased tyre. There's loads written regarding off road tyres but far less about on road ones. From what I can make out the 'best' size seems to be 90/90 21 and 100/100 18 and maybe Pirelli Scorpions/Con...

Removing the purple from the rims question

Does anyone happen to know if the purple / blue colour can be removed from the wheel rims of the OE model ? How can it be done and what would it leave underneath ? Would it leave a nice clear alloy colour ? Or would it be easier to try and find a couple of secondhand wheels from a Y2K model ? Any other alternative...

Apparently cross-head Japanese fasteners don’t actually use a Phillips style head!
(Preview)
I had never heard of JIS until a few moments ago! Interesting reading. I am assuming our TTRs use JIS fasteners. Brian Cross-head style fasteners can be found on all Japanese motorcycles. Most people will associate this style of cross-head to a Phillips style bit. This is incorrect. These cross-hea...
