Hi folks I need some advice please. A customer asked for a quote for 4 valve lifters - as Yamaha calls them. I looked up the fiche and it showed two different parts - a blue and a red Anyone know the difference please? Brian
I have a 2004 TTR 250. Right in front of the head cover there is a hole. When warm there is oil that kinda percolates out and drips on the exhaust and smokes. It looks like there should be a bolt in there, but every part finder I see has the hole but no bolt identified. Can someone please tell me what this...
Hi, Just picked up my first TTR 250 today so just saying hello. I bought it as an introduction to green laning and off roading. My background is in road riding and I current have a r1200gs that I've had for a month and prior to that I have an R1, a fireblade and a load of other odd bikes. Cheers, Mark -- Edited b...

Having just rebuilt my TTr top end it all runs but only in neutral , as soon as I put it in gear the engine cuts - it won't restart or even turnover except in neutral - so how should I eliminate the problems to find the source?? I assume it's either a sensor in the gearbox, side stand or clutch switch but wher...
There is an add. Type in TTR 250 parts. Guy has a front wheel for sale $100. He said he also has blue model petrol tank. Rear shocky. Front mud gaurd. All for 100 bucks. Its in western Sydney Sounds like a bargan for anyone local.
Anyone got any of these they are prepared to part with for cash or to swap for other TTR parts? I don't need the wiring loom/connector for the warning lights just the binnacle itself. Brian
A couple of weeks ago I left the bike idling on full choke for a couple of minutes and left it running. I came back to see the battery box smoking. The result was an approximately two inch hole melted on the edge of the cover. I thought that this was down to me leaving the bike on idle too long but now I'm not so s...

Evening all, Just a quick query ref. clutch cables. Does anyone happen to know of a decent replacement cable that not going to cost the same as Yamaha want to charge.......£40 Would a better alternative be to get a universal repair kit and hope the bit fit? Phil
There was some question about stock jets on US models - for the record, I pulled the carb on my 2003 US model, which I'm pretty certain has never been touched, and the jets are in fact 137/50 (as Jarrah had opined) even though my manual says the pilot is 52. I was told this bike was originally sold in Alaska...
Has anyone stripped a carb and found this item missing? I stripped and cleaned mine the other day and then had a look through one of Brian's guides on carbs and found I didn't have the valve in the photo below. I can't see how I have lost it but not sure how it would run if missing? Sorry for stealing you pic Br...

If I get that very cool bash plate from totallyttrs will I have to take it off every time I change the oil? Looks like it will clear and doesn't have to be removed to get at the drain but I thought I'd ask. (This is for a 2003 US model, with custom stand, as pictured.) Also, it looks like it just bolts on where...
