I want to get a bit more flow through the stock silencer. I read on another forum about making a hole next to the std hole in the tin can piece. It apparently misses some baffling that way and is not too noisy. Can anyone confirm that it is so? Some idea of the internal layout of the baffling would be grea...
Hi All, I don't currently have a TTR250 but am seriously considering one, I have a couple of friends with raids and have read a lot about the big trips done on these little bikes. I am a big yamaha fan and sold my wr450F earlier this year with the intention of downsizing and increasing service intervals!...
Hi All, have probably made the biggest mistake of my life. Have sold the best motorbike I've ever owned, my beloved 2005 TTR. Shed a tear as it was ridden away. As a result I have brand new OEM parts and other stuff for sale for those in Australia. I ended up with these parts because my best mate has the ident...
I am still busy reading and searching, but I thought I would put this out there so long. I was quite surprised when the new to me TTR felt like it topped out at 80km/h. This bike was well looked after cosmetically, but mechanically not so much - i.e. loved but not understood The bike takes forever to cat...
whats the typical speeds the ttr can go mine is standered and with trail wing tyres at 14psi tops out at 135kmh but feels more comfortable at 100-110 kmh.
does this sound about right.
Hi Floks, I'm a bit of a crime drama freak, and I've been watching the first series of "Top of the lake" over the last week. In the 5th episode, there were some biker types looking for a child in mountainous country in NZ, and low and behold one of them was riding TTR
i'm now on the hunt for plastics for an open enduro (OE),iv'e got myself an open enduro tank, seat(will need recovered) and frame(off to get cleaned and returned in a nice candy blue powder coat),so as my original frame was a raid, the panels are not suitable for this frame and not sure but rear mudwing a...
Stolen in Brighton yesterday, keep a look out Robin Webb's lovely TTR. Should be easily identified with black rims, 17" at rear plus modified seat and big tank. PM me if you spot it or hear of it - meanwhile I will get a proper phone number. Brian
I have tried my hand (Trish's actually!) at doing a couple of video tutorials to help owners removing and replacing their carb for the first time. I didn't really prepare properly so there is quite a bit of mumbling and senior "stuck for the words" moments so sorry about that! Here they are. In the first...
Ttr 250 year 2000. Bought as spares/project. It's been imported and I've notified nova, there is no import duty to pay, and I'm awaiting registration documents to proceed. The bike was purchased as a poor starter/runner. I've had the carb ultrasonic cleaned and new inlet manifold cleaned tank and f...

The first is on 147-50 jetting and the second on 137-50. These jets were what were already fitted so I didn't need to pull t...
Okay I have done my conversion I'm happy with it but for those who want to do it cheaper Yamaha yzf 125r wheels are exsactly the same as Dt supermoto wheels but they are lighter and much more readily available for less money you would still need to make caliper extension bracket for the front hope this hel...

My son washed out the front end of the TTR, now the forks and handlebars are not aligned. The bars are favoring the right side of the bike. Do I need to loosen to the headstem bolt, or do I start with the triple clamps and front axle? I would appreciate your kind assistance with this. Thank you.
Nasty weather here today so decided to spend some workshop time on carbs put back over the years for various reasons. A couple of them had seized float bowl drain screws - not unusual - so had a go with my LH drill bits and Easy-outs. This screw was not going to come out without a fight Tools used plus a LH d...
