Hi all I'm not sure if this is been answered already. I have a charging problem and I checked the stator resistance and it was around 2ohms so I searched for a stator without any luck I ordered a Taiwan coil which was in spec for resistance but had a problem with the pickup which made the bike run super lean c...
So I'm thinking of stripping the TTR of all electrical components as I never use it on the road.. keep battery , starter & charging components , all other stuff will go... Question ... to remove the ignition switch do I have to connect any wires in the main loom ? only want the kill switch & a main o...
So, not strictly for sale from myself.. Alex from Alexander Motorcycles (alex@alexandermotorcycles.co.uk) done me a ridiculously good deal on a B&B Sump Guard he had in. On asking if he had anything else laying around for the TTRs he mentioned he had a set of the B&B frame guards. I'm not su...
Hi all, have just ordered the Acerbis tank mounting kit from Totally TTRs and am wondering if anyone has had any experience with it? I know the kit was made for the xr650l tank but has anyone successfully used it with one of the other xr tanks...250/400/600? The 650l tank seems to be rare in Australia bu...
Hi! I am the proud owner of this '93 TTR 250 open enduro. It was a birthday present from my fiance last July. I used to ride motocross (badly) in my 20s but stopped when my first son came along. He's 12 now and has his own TTR 125. I've not been out on the '250 much since I've owned it as I've been slowly working o...
Hi Guys, My 2005 TTR250 has a high pitched noise that gets louder with RPMs and when the engine gets hot. Clutch in or out makes no difference and neither does bike speed. I've only noticed it the last few hundred miles and it's been getting louder. Sometimes the engine makes a hard clunk when it shuts off...
Hello everyone! Yesterday i noticed that one of the studs that hold the exhaust in place had completely fell off my bike. I had replaced this stud a month ago as the previous one could not get tight enough and i hoped that this may resolve the issue, which unfortunately wasn't the case. The threading tha...
Hello, my name is holger from germany. I am searching a ttr250, but its is difficult to get one in germany, because in the past they are not sold. So i need some help, to find a ttr in an other country, and maybe you have a ttr250 for to sold or know somebody. Because of my illness, i like to have a lightweight,...
Hi all, My bike developed a weird rattling coming from the clutch basket, I think. It stops or minimises when I pull the clutch lever. It is not that annoying but I would like to ask if someone has experienced this and what could the cause be?
Can anyone recommend a good fastners set that is availabe in the UK? I'm talking a big box of nuts, bolts, washers etc that I can have to hand when I need to replace one of the rusty ones that are beyond saving on my bike. Seems like there's always at least one like this that needs replacing when I've done any...
Hi I am looking to replace my engine upper engine mounts and although the shop has individual mounts at £25, thought I would see if anyone has broken a bike and would sell the mounts, also interested in a replacement headlight and plastic cowling if anyone has these.
So, I'm looking for more power! I have a '94 raid. I am hoping to add electric grips and an electric vest. Grips run at about 60 watts. That's almost half of what the stator produces. Are there any aftermarket stators for the bike? Am I looking at a rebuild?
I'm kicking myself a bit for this one, but let's see if I can get it running at least. Low compression (45-50 dry), no spark (before me), new wiring harness and tdi box installed by questionable methacanics... Leakdown and simple tests indicate carb, valves, rings, or something bigger. After top e...

Hello all, I would like some advice on the following. My Kick Start and Electric Start have jammed on my bike, I can move the crank using socket but only some of the way round in either direction before it jams. I have taken CAM cover off and looked at timing chain and valves, you can see that this all looks...

Greetings everyone, I am in the process of purchasing a TTR250rl, 2003, and looking forward to learning and participating in this forum. I am currently riding a Yamaha Super Tenere and a KLR650, and wanting to add a TTR250 for trails and off-road as the two I have now are just getting too heavy for that p...
Hi everyone. Thanks to a Forum Guru, I was able to obtain a used oil cooler. I have read the publications which talk about it, in particular the internal screw in the right cover. Do you have any advice for assembly and especially restarting in order to check that the lubrication is good through the cool...
Exhaust cracked right through today 😟. Don’t think it can be repaired ? So looking at new one . What do the new stainless ones sound like ? Good or too loud ? Keep it standard ? Thoughts ? Cheers
has anybody tried / bought one of the diesel heaters off ebay £99 approx for their garage looks good ive got a space heater but gets too warm may think of selling it only 2 years old
I noticed that the shorty header pipe is touching the oil pipe bolt on the right case cover. Could it cause any problem? I don't want to undo the header bolts unless absolutely necessary because one is helicoiled and if it fails the repair will be troublesome. Helicoil cannot be used again...
I have been in contact with Hagon Shocks about them developing a rear shock for the TTR for a while now. Today I dropped my bike off for the work to begin. I will get it back in around 2 weeks and keep you all updated on how it goes. -- Edited by mikemikettr250bike on Tuesday 9th of November 2021 05:44:30...

Hello everyone. I recently bought a used TTR-250 raid. After a while i noticed that if the bike was left being off for more than 20 hours i would have hard time firing it up again and also i noticed white smoke coming out of the exhaust at high revs (burning oil was my guess). So i decided to do a top end rebuil...
