Hi all, Putting my TTR250 up for sale. 6024 miles. Spend my free time on my eMTB now, so not riding it ! I bought it in Dec 2024, got indicators fitted and oil changed, and full MOT on it. I did two rides - little road ones - and then, apart from a monthly start up, it sat in my garage. I have now SORN it. I will sel...
I'm looking for a TTR, (arn't we all). Just sold my WRF (before it did for me), tried a friends TTR and was immediately smitten! I'm located in Cornwall but have a van so can travel. I'm not looking for a project, would prefer a nice example that l can start enjoying immediately. Cheers, Mark.

I am having problems starting the TTR 250. The bike has been ridden recently, fuel is about 2 months old.The bike starts but dies immediately, regardless of choke or throttle.I have cleaned the carb out a few times (pilot and main jets) and replaced the inlet stub, fuel flow is good.I still think this i...
Fitting my 350 kit and have just started reassembling. I’ve pressed the crankshaft into the bearing using the flywheel bolt and a socket per the suggestion in the excellent guide but the teeth on the crank are sitting slightly higher than the balancer teeth The picture I took before taking apart doe...
Hi Everyone, Ive just bought a nice looking (Blue) 2005 TTR to replace my very nice and capable Honda CRM250, the Kickstart on the CRM is the deciding factor, I needed that Electric start on the TTR. I'd like it a bit lower, so that projects started to get it ready for the coming season and an ACT Pyrenees t...
I am chuffed to be able to report that the joint project that TTR Steve and I did to rebuild a TTR250 rear shock (and to document the process so as to create a user guide) was successful The guide is now online click here and, as usual with new guides, feedback will be appreciated! Now that new shocks are n...
Hi Everyone I've just acquired a TTR (See newbie section) When fully prepped, I will be using the Bike for UK Trails, BOATS, UCR's (Green Lanes) AND longer extended trips to Europe using 50% on & 50% off Road trips of around 10 - 20 days. I measured my barrel with a bore gauge. It's out of round by about 0.003 (3 thou) Google says it's time for a rebore, would everyone here agree? Would .5mm be enough? Would anyone like to recommend a machine shop, either that I can post to, or that's in the Didcot (S.Oxon.) area? Thanks in advance. Jon....
I recently took a fully (over!)loaded carful of my other remaining TTR parts to Steve to put them in the shop. These may not be listed for a while so, if you need any used parts not in the Totally TTRs shop here, maybe drop him an email. The stash included 8 X aluminium swingarms, crankcases, steering head...
Much to my displeasure, I have to move my 2002 TTR250 on to a new home. It's all down to accumulated injuries, arthritis, surgery and the fact that I can no longer get my leg over the seat of the bike. Sidecars, race bikes and driving only now. No, don't suggest a cruiser, unless you want a deathly stare...
I have owned this bike since 2014, it has been resting in the garage for at least 6 or 7 years unused now. I plan to move home, don't want to take it with me. I'm looking for just £1200. Give me a call on 07800835612 if you want to know more. -- Edited by Sparkydog on Saturday 17th of January 2026 10:35:44 AM
Took the ttr out for a run again its been 2 days since the last ride did 120ks before the day warms up . Dry and dusty but as usual good fun the ttr does it easy
I have had a big invoice from IONIS for web hosting so I am looking to move my web pages to another free or cheaper platform. I am paying £18 pa for the ttr250.com domain plus £216 pa for hosting. This is a lot of money for static HTML web pages which don't get a huge amount of traffic so I am looking at alternat...
A good video where the TTR250 is mentioned as a great sleeper bike often underrated as all of the owners on here realise. I love em.https://youtu.be/NpPHQTg1m4Q?si=0RRiuEFAs41sgR7j
Ive been putting it off for ages but repacked the steering head bearings today . 40 deg in the shed so a bit of a chore lol but it good to have it done
Hi all . I’m on fitting an Oxford relay accessory box . Garmin, sat nav, heated grips and usb take a bit of fastening to the battery ! I need to identify the pemanent live to rear light as that’s the suggested point and nearest . I have a multimeter and sure I can use a bulb but awaiting new battery at moment !...
I have a 2002 TTR250, starts up fine but when I give it throttle and the rpms settle down, it does this weird vibration/rattling like it has an air leak and the rpms kinda go up a little. Anyone experienced this before? Here is a link to a video I took. https://share.icloud.com/photos/03dsY_k6vXv6i-...
can anyone help i changed my front tyre on my ttr 250 and i have over tightened one of the axle holder bolts [10mm] which caused it to shear [im gutted] and i think they are welded to the fork as anyone got any suggestions on my options without great expense.

New to me, ive just got a 2003 yamaha ttr250 , when you put a fully charged up battery connected and try the starter all i here is a slight click, i wondered what to look at to fix , this, the compression seems low when turning the engine over on the kickstarter with the spark plug in, its done under a 1000 mile...
Had a new issue this weekend that I've not come across before. Thought I'd share it: For some time now, my neutral light has glowed dimly whatever gear I was in, in wet weather. Came on brightly in neutral as normal. I just assumed it was damp causing a mild short across the neutral switch which is freque...
