Much to my displeasure, I have to move my 2002 TTR250 on to a new home.  It's all down to accumulated injuries, arthritis, surgery and the fact that I can no longer get my leg over the seat of the bike.  Sidecars, race bikes and driving only now.  No, don't suggest a cruiser, unless you want a deathly stare (I'd have to take a selfie & I'm just too old for that caper.)  Anyhow...

2002 Yamaha TT250R (TTR250)  $4000.

c65000km . 296**km showing on replacement odometer.

Unregistered.  Not used past 12 months.

Frame up re-build 2020, for use as an adventure tourer, including -

·       Piston & Rings, cylinder honed.

·       Front & rear brakes re-built – master cylinders & caliper kits.

·       Braided hoses front & rear & new pads.

·       New rear rotor.

·       Rear wheel re-spoked.

·       Totally TTRs cam cover plug (essential upgrade to prevent a leak)

·       Wheel, steering head, swingarm pivot & linkage bearings.

·       Custom made rear tray (with template), fender eliminator (with template) & soft pannier rails (practical, not pretty).

·       B&B Sump guard

·       Aluminium heel guards

·       Bark Busters with hand guards (showing wear & tear).

·       OEM steel bolts replaced with stainless cap or hex head, as required.

·       Seat mounting modified for simple release (no bolt removal required)

·       Shorty header with standard muffler fitted.

·       ‘bar risers

·       OEM (slim) seat with blue/grey aftermarket cover.

I forgot - clutch plates were renewed too.

Since then, apart from riding it on day, multi-day and multi-week rides around SE Australia, on as many back roads as I could find -

Cam Chain & guides replaced <5000km ago.

O-ring drive chain <1000km.

Starter clutch replaced less than <500km ago.

Acerbis 20 litre (400km range).  Long fitting bolts for oil cooler fitment.

Fused, 12v power to steering head, direct from battery.

New grips.

OEM rear shock, freshly re-built internally (Hoey Racing), hard chromed rod, fitted with DR650 spring.

Front tyre – almost new. Barely have 300km on it.

Rear tyre – <20% remaining.

Spares

New

·       rear tyre, still wrapped.

·       21” UHD tube

·       Front brake pads

·       Rear brake pads

·       Rear disc rotor (it was bought for a different project and not used)

·       Oil filter

·       Clutch cable

·       Alternator cover gasket

·       Chain guide / swingarm cover.

·       1 only fork seal

·       genuine Yamaha parts, new in packaging, to re-build the spare cylinder head.

Used

Toby’s Upholstery comfort seat, blue gripper vinyl – great seat for adventure touring.

OEM petrol tank, with tap.

Plastics –

·       Right side cover – almost impossible to find.

·       Front mudguard

·       Rear mudguard x 2

·       Front headlight mask, plus headlight in bent mounting.

·       OEM brush guards (white)

·       Airbox (Modified hatch)

·       Battery box

·       Chain guard

OEM Header x 2

OEM Muffler x 1

Staintune muffler, with dB killer.

Front brakes – brake lever, master cylinder to caliper assembled.

Rear brakes – lever, mater cylinder to caliper assembled, with rear caliper carrier.

Foot pegs

Some electrical components

Clutch & throttle cables

Carburettor

Multiple sprockets in usable condition.

·       Front - x2, worn.  Keep for desperation?

·       Rear – good condition  2 x 50T, 1 x 49T, 1 x 44T

OEM x 3 crankcase protection bars.

Sundry parts – turn indicators, pillion footpegs, OEM fasteners replaced by stainless fasteners.

Patterns & templates for custom parts

Totally TTRs clutch holding tool

Damper rod removal tool (home made)

Fork seal driver.

Home made, aluminium rear master cylinder guard.

Half completed patterns for ‘steg pegs’ (not available for the TTR). Cartd board, plywood, plastic & tin sheet versions.  Never got around to finishing that job.

Complete engine – disassembled.

Will need all bearings & seals replaced, piston/rings & cylinder hone, at minimum. Condition not assessed by me.

Clutch cover alteration – over length bolt install - done for external oil cooler to be fitted.

Extra clutch.

Extra cylinder.

Cylinder head remains intact - see above re new parts for head re-build.

Perfect opportunity to construct a Totally TTRs 350 as a second engine?

Plus, I washed & oiled the air filter today.

New owner should do a service, so they know what they've got.
