Hi guys, Some time has passed since I started working on this motorbike, and finally parts I have ordered arrived. Today while trying to fit camshaft caps with new bolts, I have found that threads of some of them where stripped..so I have decided to take head apart to fix this. Once I took head apart, I ha...
The 2 strange oil pump gear covers are missing off my engine. I'm not sure exactly what they protect against but if anyone has a couple available can you let me know? Thanks, Spud.

I bought this bike mid september last year with the intention of going green laning on it. I've done less than 300 miles since then and as the local legal trails near me seem to be disapearing. I'm just not using it so it needs to go to somone who will. Its road registered, I have the full V5 in my name and its M...
Broken bolts or chewed up screw heads can often be removed using left hand spiral drill bits which back the problem stud or bolt out its hole without damaging the thread. Screw extractors are brittle and can snap. Left hand spiral bits drill in an anti-clockwise direction and can release the pressure...

Hello guys, I have got a question. Have any of you got a problem like me? Sometimes the kickstarter of my 1995 Open Enduro gets stuck and I cannot kickstart it. I only can start the engine using the starter button at such times. Checking the flywheel side I saw that the starter gear gets stuck sometimes....
Has anyone tried "redex" or similar addative to the fuel to lubricate valve guides.. Im still trying to pinpoint that noise from the top end.. My 04 TTR250 backfires through the carb at idle as it's idling down from sitting still and revving it or from just idling for more than five or six seconds it nearly blows the carb off the intake boot what could be the issue? I've read many things but I'd like to know some specific to this bike to check. S...
Having brought another tttr250 unfortunately its time to sell the honda xr400. The bike is a 1998 model with 16000km on the clock and in good condition which has been used as an introduction to trail riding and will be missed. I am looking for offers for around £1850 due to the mileage and the maintena...
my rear brake is very poor it locks the wheel for mot but at speed is very poor piston not siezed slider ok been out today to bed in new pads not very good
I've seen other people do it on the internet, but just wondering if its OK to cut off the fork gaiters and just run it with the bare fork? Ive been told that this will quickly lead to broken fork seals as dirt/debris gets in there that isn't protected by the gaiter anymore.. although I never ride trails on m...
So, last night my TTR was stolen/joy-ridden. After it not being where I left it, I searched a couple streets and found it parked in one only a couple hundred metres away. They'd broken the steering lock, and then opened up the ignition housing on the other side of the key insert and cut the ignition wires...
I Cleaned my carb (it was really dirty the diaphragm had nearly disintegrated) the previous owner had also stripped most of the screws, ez outs saved the day multiple times. when i put it back on the bike it started easier than ever before and it idled (it used to just die) then i gave a little twist to the t...
Do you guys check it when the engine is dead cold (been sitting overnight) or do you warm the engine up for a minute or so then let it sit for 5-10 then check it? I swear I read somewhere you check the TTR cold but everyone I know with a more modern bike checks it with the other method
Hi all. I just haven't used my ttr any where as much as I thought I would (less than 300 miles !) So it may be time to sell up. I'm just gaging interest at the moment. It runs and rides and has had a new cam chain + magnetic sump plug and an aftermarket digital speedo fitted. I have sourced and fitted an original...
A friend has just returned from the Philippines- where he bought me a few sets of these. Steve (owner of this site) kindly offered to try to source some, as it took me over 1 year to get these. they DO FIT the TTR250 BLUEY (obviously they come in blue!!) ...am I just "odd" believing they finish off a TTR?!!...
Hi guys, Just to be clear: all questions I'm asking not usually are just from one motorbike. As I'm helping my friend at his garage, first TTr was the one I wanted to keep; second belonged to a customer, than then brought a third one, so yes, they are three TTR's I've been/I'm asking about. While checking...
