Hi all, introduced myself a few weeks ago, as yet to buy my first TTR250. Since then I got myself a '93 OE. No pictures yet, but, you know what they look like right? Seems fairly stock apart from the Red bark-buster type grip guards. The bike seems in pretty good order, with the following list to fettle (...
Hi all, just sold my WR450 and bought a Ttr250.What an amazing little bike.Feels so light and nimble.Had a Wr250r many years ago, and this Ttr feels a lot more grunty and faster than that, but maybe my memory is wrong.I have the standard 14/44 gearing, and think I might put 13 sprocket to see if that helps...
I have a problem with Spark. (It only sparks for less than a second ) I have removed the spark plug and left the spark plug lead on and press start, the motor turns over however the spark only last a second then nothing as the motor cranks over. If I try again nothing. However if I let it sit for ten minutes...
Hi everyone, is anyone selling/ looking to sell a TTR 250 around bristol area? I'm currently not able to use my van and trailer so needing to look as local as possible to get back out on a bike in the interim. Thanks all
Hello and thanks for letting me join, I'm new to the forum and to TTR250 ownership, I recently purchased a 1993/94 TTR250 Raid which is generally in good condition for it's age, looking forward to having a bit of off road fun on it very soon, I'm located in North Hertfordshire.
Hello, I'm a new owner of a 1993/94 TTR250 Raid, I've decided to change the front fork oil and noticed on stripping the fork legs down that there is no internal damper rod connected to the fork cap, is this normal ? Been looking for a workshop manual that covers this bike but they seem to be hard to find ?
Just a brief reminder about this great bit of kit.I was experiencing charging problems on my latest TTR refurb project. Somehow, I managed to kill my digital multimeter so I was unable to do the stator resistance and charging tests shown in the workshop manual. After a flash of inspiration (don't oft...
Been lurking for a while, was undecided which first dually to get. I considered XT350's, TT350's, XL400R, XL250R, WR250, In the end though, I think I will need an elec start, plus I'm impressed with the community you all have over here, and support from Totally TTR. As for the WR - a bit heavier, bit mo...
Ok, bit of a back story but I bought my bike from a friend who drove to Devon to buy it from a guy who used this site alot. Sadly I believe the guy was very poorly ( in fact I don't want to use the word but I believe he had terminal cancer.) So my mate had a great day with him pootling down some green lanes and brough...
Hi There are a lot of how to fix enquiries on the Forum, which is great, I think a few more pics and stories of TTRs out and about around the world would be great, seeing TTRs in their natural habitat is always good .
HELLO ALL! Found you via Google. Im 67 and riding since about 10 years old. Started on those Honda 50 and 70's we all love. Got a used 2003 TTR250 for $1400usd. When I went to get it he agreed it had a idle problem. Would stall if you didnt hold a little gas on. But other then that rode and ran great and shifte...
Hey all, just getting back into riding after far too long away. I want/ need to do some jobs on the old girl but would like a paper manual.... Ive got the computer version off Brian but find it a pain. My question is.... was the 1998 a weird year or something as all the manuals ( Hayes and clymer) don't come up...
Well after some serious health issues last year & an operation to correct it, plus was not allowed to lift for 3 months. I rode the WRR 4 months ago in pain from my left hand ( Viking hand) could not pull the clutch in & didn't use the clutch most of the ride. Pulled my finger out & had another ope...
Had the day off today did a ride upto gingers creek on the Oxley highway for lunch of course went the dirt way a total of 207km . Pretty rough and a bit hot but a lot of fun .
Is there a replacement cable or one off another model that will fit ? I can find new ones but they say I'll need to wait 14 days ,and I need one for the weekend as I'm doing a long distance trail on Sunday.
So I've just changed a leaking fork seal and refreshed with new oil. Now we nipped up the 14mm base valve nut at the bottom of the forks with the idea of fully tightening when the fork is back on the bike. We can't get the nut to tighten and it sounds like somethings spinning inside to fork. So a bit of digging...
Hello! I'm Nev and I'm a fairly recent convert to riding. I bought my TTR last year from Wales having only ever really ridden a classic C50 moped. Bought knowing not a lot about them, I've since come to love trail riding and have become very much attached to my little Raid! Me and a few mates are going trai...
It says "Removing the carb can be quite a big job if the air box is removed first.". Actually that's the easy way to do it. I think this should say "Removing the carb can be quite a tricky job if the air box has not been removed first and you don't know the technique, but it can be done without damage to the in...
So a simple (ish ) job has become a nightmare! I was torquing the lower pinch bolts up to spec and was just thinking wow that's tight and snap doh. Any advice how to remove and where to get said bolt? Its the lower yoke pinch bolt top bolt ( caliper side. I cant seem to upload a photo? D
I just purchased a 2002 TTR250 I took apart my carb for cleaning and I noticed when putting it back together that the check valve that sits in the bowl is missing. Before, the bike was running poorly. Im not sure if the valve fell out when I was cleaning it, or if I bought it that way. Could the poor running b...
Selling my 2004 Yamaha TTR250. Lovely little bike for a first trail bike and has served me well. It’s done roughly 18k miles and has 12 months MOT. It has been used as intended, off-road, so it’s no show pony. That said, it scrubs up well enough and it has been looked after in my ownership. Work done in my ow...
Hi, i would like to enlighten me in a strange issue : after light signs of cracks on tank cap rubber seal and leakage from the keylock barrel, gas cap of tank was changed on TTR '97. After the change, engine switched on and drive about 200m to garage with tank filled by 1/3. Petrol tap has turned off and bike...
