Was time for us to spend a week up in the outback of South Australia in the Flinders Ranges. Loaded my & my mates TTR's into my trailer...500kms later we are there, we had a ball & proved just how good the TTR is. We did 1000kms in the car & 800kms on the bike, loading a few videos for you to get bor...
Hey guys, When I bought my Raid, I also got given a set of what I believe are the open endure front forks. They have the little air nipple at the top. My question is, are their any differences between the two apart from this air nipple and which set are better? Is it worth me swapping over the OE ones?

In the process of fitting an oil cooler i got from Brian i noticed this scrapping mark .Posted on the forum a few weeks back about a noise i could here at times. This maybe the problem, i have not had the clutch plates off as yet, but that large cog behind the clutch plates wobbles by hand. These scrapes on t...
So recently my Raid developed these problems. I guess it is time for valve clearance adjustment/ shim replacement? - Lots of blue smoke when cold starting, hard to start after sitting for 10- 12 hours. My guess is the oil leaking into the piston during the night. - Loud clicking noise for 2-3 minutes af...
Hello , as written in the subject box I am making the jump from road bikes onto enduro bikes. A road legal enduro bike that is. I had messed about as a kid with friends on crf250's but the road bikes took over until I finally decided to make the jump . My Suzuki bandit 1200 is on its way to a new home very soon so I...
Finished my first top end rebuild and decided to go the first oversize rebore. Ive been changing some things on my TTR in my spare time. Was pretty much trying to get it looking less like an older bike. Bought a new condition WR450f headlight to fit up. Masking tape on wheels to paint the rims black. Headl...
I had a question from an oner that I was embarrassed not to be able to answer but it was the first time I had been asked it! It is ages ago that my lad took his bike test and in those days you started on a 50cc at 16 years old and took your test on it after which you could drive any bike. Anyone here know the positio...
Got up this morning and thought I would give the TTR a good run out. Did the lane from Hunningham up to the fosse way. This is just a gravel track that is pretty uneventful but leads me up to hunningham hill. From here I rode down to Ufton. Came across two land rovers. Group of six or seven on Ktm bikes and two f...
Just got back from the Taffy Dakar. Absolutely awesome weekend three nights of partying, two full on days trail riding, roughly 200 mile ride each way on a borrowed DR250 (My TTR 250 started making ominous noises last week so a mate lent me his bike, cheers Paul you're a star). I am absolutely bolloxe...
As the title says, i noticed alot of play in the bearings, so time to strip it down, i wasn't looking forward to any of it, but it simply came apart very very easy, i also noticed the rubber inlet was split. so new bottom and top shock bearings and rubber inlet ordered yesterday from the shop, should have it...
Went for a ride today, got soaked Nice picture Went through this lane, if you zoom in you can see the cows I passed in the background, bit of a scary moment, but even though they were with youngsters I managed to get through
I just bought a 2006 TTR250 so I could ride with My kids. It has a leaky carb but had the top end rebuilt at the end of last season. Runs well, but sometimes it seems like the throttle sticks - though the cable returns. I'm assuming the carb just needs a great cleaning. Here are the bikes I have with some p...
My 2004 Blue TTR250 has sat for a while not being used. Wouldn't start at all, but turned over fine, so I stripped & cleaned the carb. Turned out the float valve was sticking closed, not letting any fuel in. All cleaned up with carb cleaner, then I put it all back together & it started reluctantly...
Good day everyone So I feel like my bike has reached a stage where I feel its necessary to spend some cash on it. I have a bit of spare cash lying around so here goes. When the bike is elevated the rear wheel seems to have some play when the wheel is moved up and down. No play when moved sideways. My uneducated...
Hi All Got a email from Brian the other day, to say that he's good friend Adrian was having to give up trail riding and was selling his bike Lisa has promised to do her bike test this year, so we thought it would be a good bike for her Went to Brian's this morning and we drove to Adrian's, to pick the bike up. On t...
Went out yesterday with a new guy ( hopes he will get on here soon and join the gang!) Alan from Cornwall. Met him at Hatherliegh and we had a chat about bikes. Now he comes from a trials background and had not been trail riding before, we talked about the TTR'S and he thought about getting a bigger bike soon...
Some of the older models such as the 4GY1 ran different teeth combinations to later engines. There was a 72T/20T (#4GY-15512-00-00) large idler gear which ran with a 16T/15T (part #4GY-15517-00-00) small idler gear. The large idler gear is no longer available from a Yamaha parts dealer in the UK alt...
Some old photos I came across of old time mid Devon/North Devon riders shot's hear are from out Steve's way in an around winkleigh Devon the Group are I think the Bideford and Barnstaple club outside the car garage/builder in Winkleigh not a lot of tarmac around back then. if the pic's are a little sm...
Hi, I am usually pretty good at working out how long road tyres will last on bikes but I am still pretty new to this off road stuff. I have an Ac10 on the back of my TTR and it has about 10mm left on the centre blocks (it seems strange calling it tread). if I sort out some other issues with the bike I intend ridi...
eHelp my bike is making an ominous rattle. It sounds like the rear chain is knocking on the engine cases but it isn't because I have just put a new chain and sprockets (14/48) on. The noise seems to come mainly from the left side of the engine and originally seemed to only be when the bike was moving but n...
