Fork oil loss...
(Preview)
I replaced the fork seals a few months ago. Went for a few rides. No oil loss. Having not used the bike for a couple of weeks I gave it a quick check before going on holiday (on another bike) no issues. Returned from holiday to find about an egg cup full of oil had leaked from one leg? I gave it a clean. Went for a...

Is this an issue?
(Preview)
Guys, I acquired a 99 ttr 250 that needs a lot of attention. It appears the rod bearing burnt up and there is all kinds of metal shavings in the oil. I have been working on tearing down the engine. I was trying to take the rotor off without the sheath holder and the monkey wrench I was using dug into the met...

fork axle clamp
(Preview)
hi, what's the story with the white (and blue I think too) fork axle clamp? The Haynes manual section 5C-7 has an illustration 4.33 which has the clamp marked number 23 and unhelpfully doesn't even name number 23 in the key. My friend thinks you should tighten the top 2 nuts first about 5ft/lb torque the...

Low Oil

Hi all - I've recently bought a TTR. Went to change the oil and was unhappy to see the level was v low (prob about 500ml) and old and black. Nothing bad on the sump plug or in the filter (filter had some silver deposits - like you see on a bike's first service). Bike seems to run ok-ish but wondered if there's a...
