Front sprocket nut
(Preview)
I got a 2003 ttr 250 a few months back and have loved every minute of the thing. It's also my first dirtbike. But anyway the other day I rode it to the gas station to fill it up and on my way back the nut for the front sprcket fell off. I managed to slide the sprocket back on and babied it home. I got my new nut and a n...

90/90-21 front tyre (Knobby)
(Preview)
Can anyone please confirm whether there are any issues ie clearance with the fork boots with the above tyre size (it is a Dunlop Geomax AT81). Apparently the 80/100-21 is not overly common and there is some doubt that it is actually narrower when mounted.

2000 TTR 250 not charging

Hey lads, As the title suggests my bike wont hold a charge for the life of it. It'll charge a tiny bit after a long ride and maybe charge it enough to start it once but that's it. goes dead flat. I've taken it to the mechanic and they say there's nothing wrong with the stator and what not and the volt meter is re...

Re-routing Crankcase breather hose
(Preview)
When I drowned my bike a while back I wondered how larger (not that large) bits of organic matter got in the motor as they wouldn't have fitted through the air filter and the filter was almost 100% clean on the inside despite having a layer of mud about 10mm thick on the outside. The exhaust didn't go under...

I have been reading a lot of threads on the internet about TTR owners who removed the snorkel from the air box and installed twin air filters. Snail Chain Adjuster Slipping
(Preview)
I just picked-up a 1999 TTR-250, put a new rear tire on the back and when I was tightening my rear axle, the snail-shaped chain adjuster on the castle nut side starts to slip when I get close to the torque spec. I'm thinking either the notches are worn down too much on the adjuster or there the washer that g...

Cleaning s/s exhaust header
(Preview)
Had a go at mine with Optiglanz. Great stuff but a bit virulent, so I wrap the nearby engine parts and frame in cling film first. I don't spray it but pour some in to an old glass and paint it on with a cheap paint brush. Leave for a few minutes then wipe off; actually once you've got rid of most of it give it a go...
