Yamaha GYTR Muffler, can it be made quieter?

Hi All 

I have the TTR250 with the factory GYTR muffler.. I didn't mind the noise till I bought my son the same bike, however his has the White Brothers E-Series muffler.  This is so much quieter.

My question is, can the GYTR be made quieter.  I use the bike to help muster sheep out Cobar, NSW. 

 

Or recommend another brand, I could then keep the GYTR stock and swap over when I go to Cobar
