XT 225 wheel compability

Hey There! I'm in a hunt for wheels to my OE, but I can't find any. I was thinking maybe the XT225 wheels would fit to the TTR as well. Has anyone tried this?

I haven't, but will have a Serow in the workshop next week and will check. Watch this space...
(Unless anyone else has tried already?)

If the axle diameters are the same then that makes things easier. As long as there are no unseen snags then usually a wheel from a similar era bike can be made to fit by making up spacers to get the disc in the right place.

One other thing to consider if yours is a blue bike is the speedo drive.

It would be good to have another wheel option for the TTR so good luck guys!

Brian

I haven't got as far as the rear wheel yet, but I'm afraid the front is not a direct swap.
Spindle diameter is the same so you can at least hang it in the forks ok, but the hub is narrower on the xt225 so you need different spacers made to centralize it. The brake disc is a smaller diameter on the xt, has a different bolt pattern, and would need a spacer made to fit between it and the hub to bring it into line with the caliper.
Sorry!
The speedo drive would fit though!! (XT hub has speedo drive lugs on both sides!)
Maybe have a look for Honda xr250, or Yam DT??
