Is it possable to connect 2 battreys in both relay and parallel with out

heaps of sparks and smokeing wires....

Is the some trick little gizzmo I don't know about....Maybe diodes??

Surely can't be done Pete as, if you connect the +ve and -ve terminals to make a serial connection, you would immediately short both batteries out by connecting them in parallel confuse

PS Interested to know what you are trying to achieve

It's possible but complicated  some European trucks used series parallel relays (one unit)  they ran 12v systems but the starters were 24v 

I used to service them very interesting and when working ok a good thing haven't seen one for years

My memory is kicking in  the ones I rebuilt were mainly Bosch and Delco  also some CAV pommy ones

If you want to run 12v on a six volt system like earlier bikes there are dc to dc inverters just leave the charging system standard and feed the main feed via the 12v output of the inverter good for basic lighting cheaper and better bulbs

I have just had an '80s Honda XR 200 stator rewound to run 12v battery and lights system, retaining the 6v coils for the cdi/coil. £140 including a new reg/rec. Is that what you're trying to achieve?

 the 1980 KL250 i am restoreing has a 6v charging...

I was hopeing to charge two 6 volt battreys then take 12 volts off them...

run a trail tec speedo and 12 v led lighting..

but I have since had another thought... the KL has  drum brakes...and it just so

I have dirt / ADV / trials bikes..so I an looking turning it into a road legal US tyle flat tracker...

I've used the 6v  dc to 12v dc inverters easy fit and can stick with 6v charge and Ign and run everything else at 12v 

Cost effective and easy

I did an old Suzuki left the charge and Ign standard and ran everything else on 12v with minimal harness changes .Wish they were around years ago 

With a bigger unit old 6v VW cars can run 12v lighting and accessories
