Hi all thanks for the welcome and replies. Firstly those picture help thankyou. Looks easy enough to fabricate those bits. There is a longish story with the bikes but the short version is that I wanted a ttr but I'm a tightwad so first bought a used and abused OE. That had long lost its v5 and had anoying things done like side stand removed and mount cut off along with lots of bits missing and needing many bits to fix. But motor runs sweet. Then talking to a fried he reminds me he has a raid with a few upgrades. But has been left outside for a year with an engine in prices. Machanically ok but tatty.
O wish to use the raid but will put the best bits from both on.. is oe forks. Or swingarm. I'm not bothered for a long range tank but both are dented and although usable I prefer plastic tanks hence the blue one wanted. The raid light will be sold. I know they actually work well but I'm happy enough to trade some throw of light for some weight saving. I will keep all spares I believe I will need to help with future repairs and sell anything I don't want to hopefully help other ttr people keep Thiers going. I will post up some pics so you can see.. Si
The first oe i brought was a rough ex enduro one! It too had a knackered frame really, the bloke before had cracked and completely snaped then welded the lower cradles of the frame!
Wont be too long till you are ripping around on it!
As discussed id like to buy the raid headlight! :)
She's a little on the ahem..rough side alright, interesting colour scheme too. It's amazing how these bikes respond to some TLC though. Are you going to respray the frame? Looks like a pull apart and rebuild from the ground up type job. Good to hear the motor is running well. That seems to be a common theme with these old bikes.
