Changing the colour of your wheels

If you've been following my thread "new money pit" in the projects and restorations section, you'll know I've built a black ttr and wanted to lose the purple wheel rims in favour of gold. After long hours of fruitless searching, I finally came across this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/252768927520?

The chap's name is David Alexander, contact number 07543263086 and he's in Rugby, UK midlands. He stripped my wheels, polished out the considerable number of blemishes, reanodized them in "old gold" and rebuilt them. All for 70 quid. I should also point out that totally ttrs supplied a new full set of spokes and nipples at extremely short notice - many thanks Steve! - which allowed a turnaround of 7 days. Fantastic.

Here's the back wheel:

Pretty eh?

As there was quite a lot of corrosion, the rims are not flawless - you can only grind down so deep - but they look great. Thankyou David.

All sorts of colours are available, and David can also supply stainless spokes. Great way to update the look of your bike (or  backdate it!) without spending wodges of cash with Talon and Excel.

Ride safe,

Simon.
