You can see his side/centre stand stowed under the rack. It's a bit of a tent pole apparently which fits into a small hole in the bash plate to secure it.
I saw the pics of Robins pyrenees trip and noticed the tent poles in operation fixing a puncture on the trail .Experience has obviously led to this neat idea of supporting the bike up high to remove rear wheel intresting idea and a nice lightweight solution.
