Fitting a heat guard to an FMF pipe

Ingredients - one FMF pipe, 2 Rivnuts, 2 spacers and a heat guard from a US exhaust.

Robin Webb is planning a trip down the Western Sahara and is aiming for a 1,000km range - about 44 litres of fuel. He needs to add spare fuel cans but to keep them away from the hot exhaust.

This is his clever solution:

You can see his side/centre stand stowed under the rack. It's a bit of a tent pole apparently which fits into a small hole in the bash plate to secure it.

I would recommend the Totally TTRS rack and side rails, would do the job and would provide a better place to secure anything as well. :)

I saw the pics of Robins pyrenees trip and noticed the tent poles in operation fixing a puncture on the trail .Experience has obviously led to this neat idea of supporting the bike up high to remove rear wheel intresting idea and a nice lightweight solution.
