So I figured this would be the best place to post this thread, but I am wanting to make some modifications to my 1994 TTR250 Open Enduro (pictures to follow) and want to bounce the ideas off of people. I know there are threads that address some of these issues, but I want ideas from people that will help me as well as others.
Note: I live in the DR and they carry major brands, but with a lot of searching, you can find Yamaha parts fairly easily.
Some ideas that I have:
-I want to take the sleeves/socks of the front forks as I do not do much trail riding. Will this cause any problems? Are they essential?
-I want to buy new street tires that I can put on the wheels I already have on my stock 1994 TTR250 Open Enduro. Does anyone know of any popular brands of tire that you can put on the bike with little to no problem? I want to go for the tire look of this bike: https://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii240/jeep2004/IMAG0687_zpsbf62c328.jpg
-I have researched alternate exhaust systems and can't seem to find one that they still have in stock that would fit my year ttr250. Does anyone know of any that are for sale?
-If I'm able to find a better exhaust, what jets would I need to buy. I live about 1500-2000 feet above sea level.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's some pictures of the bike as it is now:

The exhausts are the same across all years and models eg an exhaust from a 2004 TTR250 will fit yours with no modifications - and vice versa.
Jetting will depend on which exhaust you buy and whether you make modifications to the airbox and filter.

Thanks Brian. It looks like my options online come down to the pro circuit t-4 slip on or the FMF Q4 Spark Arrestor slip on exhaust. I'll probably hold off on that project until I make some other modifications/repairs first, seeing as both of those exhausts are well over $200 each. Also, I want to make sure I have the time to properly jet the engine to prevent unneeded wear and tear. Also, the police here do not like extremely loud motorcycles and these seem to want to make my ttr exactly that.
So here we go. Here are some current modifications that I want to make that I had originally had no intention of making, but seemed essential.

Problem: Front Master Cylinder window is sealed and you can't see the amount of brake fluid inside. Also, the bolts that hold the cap on are rusted and stripped. Thirdly, the plunger that is pushed when the hand brake is applied no longer has a spring, therefore it does not get fully pressed when the brakes are applied.
Solution:Buy a new front master cylinder from partzilla (1), including the bolt (7). I will be buying the an ASV rotator clamp from motosport. Also, thanks to Brian, I have already ordered the stainless steel allen bolts for the cap that seem to want to corrode very quickly.

Problem: My front headlight is not very bright and makes night riding pretty dangerous.
Solution: There are a couple of possible solutions here. I have found a few options of headlights and bulbs that I would like to buy and hope that people will add their input. 1) Just add a better headlight bulb found on partzilla (link is below). 2) A new LED headlight by acerbis found on motosport. 3) A cycops headlight by acerbis found on motosport.
Parts:
Star White Headlight Bulb: http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/aftermarket/XP-4088593.html
Acerbis Vision LED Headlight: http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/Acerbis-Vision-HP-LED-Headlight
Any advice would be great. If anyone sees any compatibility issues or problems, also, please help me to understand. I'm definitely not a mechanic and buying online makes it that much more difficult. I plan on buying these in the next few days so please give any advice or ideas you may have.

Not sur eif that headlight bulb will fit the TTR, as I don't think the existing ones are H4. I stand to be corrected by someone more knowledgeable though
Really like the Acerbis Vision though, and am considering one myself.
The Raid headlight takes an H4 bulb and also the European pre-2004 blue TTRs with the big headlight uses them. The pic below shows the H4 fitting on a headlight glass. I think these headlights are the same as on the Australian blue TTRs.
If I understood all that correctly, it looks like just the bulb will not solve my problems. Apparently that bulb fits the 2000 ttr250, according to the compatablility check with the website, and I have the 1994 TTR250 so I might just go ahead and get the Acerbis Vision. Hopefully the mounting won't be too difficult. Anyone had any experience with mounting this headlight to a pre- 1999 model?
Another question: The bulbs on the 1994 headlight look like they are the same on the 2000 model headlight. I have looked at the possibility of a HID xenon option and they sell one for the 2000 Yamaha TTR250. Is the bulb and the wiring the same for both headlights?
