Slightly different to the usual request.

I'm six foot four, with a 35 inch inside leg. Is there a way of making the seat taller? I have been looking round for taller seat foam, like you can get for XR's and KDX's but no one makes some for a TTR 250. I would like more space from seat to foot-peg, I don't care about flat-footing really, I can do so on both sides on a WR450F, so not a concern for me really. I struggle with going from sitting to standing, controlling the foot pedals, for example, I can't bend my foot enough to use the back brake while sat down due to being so cramped up, luckily I only sit down when on the road, so I can usually just pick my foot up off the peg and move it to the pedal, same with the gears. I also struggle gripping the bike with my knees because they end up higher than anything I can grip to.

I asked a couple of mates with MX and Enduro bikes, they all said to get a bigger bike. I can't do it, I LOVE that engine, strong enough for everything I've ever needed but not enough to be scary. I've rode a 2007 RMZ250 set up for enduro, it felt too skittish and didn't seem like a lot in it engine wise, mines been rejetted, uncorked, a DG pipe, a 2X3 hole in the airbox, with a wire mesh and tights glued over it, previous owner did that, a twin air filter, a 2.0mm overbore and a ported and polished head with 14/52 gearing. She'll lift in third no problem and enough pep to make it interesting when the going gets slippy. Have also rode a 2013 CRF250R with a Cosworth built engine and loads of other goodies, which was just way too full-on, a couple of KTM 2 strokes, 125 & 300, but none are as appealing as my own bike.

Sorry, banging on a bit now. Do you reckon one of the tall seat foams for an XR or something would go on the seat base, or better to send the seat off to someone to have extra foam added to it. Do you think I could do it myself if I got some foam? What would I do about seat covers? I imagine the original won't stretch over additional foam.

Any advice from anyone, greatly appreciated.

Adam.

You need a real pro job carrying out for sure.....am currently having my previously lowered seat re-raised by a specialist in Kalamata having seen his work on other bikes...have been quoted 30 Euros which is a bargain!........hope you get sorted out....its not nice when you can't sit comfortably!

I think it might cause a problem to add extra foam to the existing as I would have thought it would make it too wobbly confuse

Better to add a couple of inches of something more solid to the seat base and re-use the existing seat foam on top of it?

It is unlikely that the standard TTR seat covers would have enough spare material so a bespoke cover is on the cards as well I reckon cry
