Anyone know how to lower the rider footpegs?

Hello, I have a question for the TTR community...

I've got a blue tank TTR.  It's a great bike, and I'm loving the bike for green laning with its smooth power and solid feel.

The only problem I have is caused by my height.  I'm 6'5" and a more comfortable standing position would be useful.

I already have the bar risers and higher bars from Brian - they are great and have helped.  A lower set of footpegs for me would be good too.  I've tried searching the web but failed so far, including companies such as SW Motech.

Has anyone found any lowered footpegs for the rider?

Cheers!

when riding in ruts they would be very low causing you to catch your feet and quickly dig in.

Depends on how low you want to go! With a minimum ground clearance of 285mm (for UK bikes) there is plenty to work with.

I noticed that Pro Moto Billet makes fully adjustable ones but they are quite expensive!- http://www.promotobillet.com/i-13389948-ttr-250-2000-2007.html

If it helps, here is a list of bikes that uses the same footpegs-

RH side- http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-4GY-27421-00-00.html

Hi,

Thanks for the replies!  biggrin

Know what you mean about ruts but not planning to drop them that low.  I'm also limited by maintaining a comfy angle to the brake and gear levers.

Jarrah - thanks for the links, those part number lists are very useful.  Hadn't seen those Pro Moto ones - they are very nice but a bit pricey, would be the most expensive add-on on my bike by some way  !  I'll still ask them the adjustment range tho' as they might end up as the only option....

I've sorted a solution for this.  I've used some after-market lowered pegs originally for a KTM.  They had to be modified to fit the narrower fixing width of the Yamaha, by a local engineering workshop.  It's made the bike much more comfy for me, without any disasters in ruts on the lanes.

The gearlever was easy to adjust to suit, just remove and refit one tooth round the spindle.

However, the reach to the rear brake lever is proving more tricky - see pics.  To lower the pegs they are now further out, as well as lower - which has made access to the brake lever awkward.  I need to buy another brake lever to modify that to suit, as I always want to be able to return the bike to stock when/if I ever sell it.
