Anyone got any idea what type of headlight bulb my 1993 TTR 250 OE should have please?

The MH6SB 12V35/36.5W stamped in it seem to mean nothing.

Cheers

Can the headlight and plastic surround (number board?) from the newer blue bikes be used in the older white open enduro models? Is it a straight swap or are the brackets different? If so are they easily available or easily made? I notice Brian has brand new blue ones for sale!

Hi Ken

My recollection is that although the blue UK surrounds fit the older TTRs they foul the digital speedo. That's why I fitted the blue US version of the white surround to my project bike - see here and scroll down to see the US surround.

Hmm - just found this pic showing the blue UK headlight fitted to a digital speedo'd TTR. I just have a recollection of a problem with it - can't recall what though confuse

Not to worry Brian, I'll keep things simple and put it back standard!
Had daughter's partner check forks and rim for straightness all seems ok so I will contact you shortly for the bits I need.

I too had a b3 bulb fitted to mine and it blew recently so i removed it only
to find that the globe of the bulb had started to melt the reflector part
of the lamp as per what Comeragh had experienced with his.

The bulb is Yamaha part number 3FW-84314-00

See here

I am pretty sure there isn't a Lucas equivalent.

Cheaper option here

Hi, I have fitted a Yamaha Virago headlight with the 60/55w H4 bulb to give me a better light on the OE i have.

I have a rough mockup made to give me basic mounting points and help me adjust it to give me the correct height for the beam and not have it shining into the sky.

When i have more locations i will fabricate a better looking and tidier setup on the cowl.
