Hello all, hoping to get some info from the experts on the forum

So, I purchased a 1994 TTR250 Raid around 3 weeks ago, rode it home on the day I bought it (around 85 miles) and the speedo and odometer was working perfectly, it was placed in my garage so I could check it over in my own time, I removed the battery and placed it on a battery optimiser.

Now, having had the time to check the bike over, do some basic servicing I put the battery back on the bike, turned the key and fired her up, everything working perfectly apart from the digital dash ? It lights up but there are no longer any KMH or Odometer figures on show ? 

My question is: Does this look like a dash board issue or if there was a problem with the digital pick up would it cause the numbers to disappear from the dash ?

I have checked the round magnet and that's all in one piece, I've also had the digital pick up off, cleaned it and checked the connections at the plug, any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
