Bike tilting to the right when taking hands off
Permalink

Hi,

Apologies for the long post that follows.

As the title says, my OE tilts to the right when taking hands off. It does so at all speeds and even when hands on, I still have to sit to the left side of the seat. As it's my only vehicle and I do long distances with it, it is pretty annoying and tiring having to tilt to the left all the time so the bike can go straight.

The day I bought it I hit a dog going 35mph which resulted in broken leg, bent front wheel and handlebar so I dont know if the bike was like this from the previous owner or if it was caused by the crash.

So far I have:

1 changed swapped wheelsets, 3 sets of tyres and chain/sprockets so I think tyre installation/wheel/chain alignment can be ruled out. I think. Problem persists
2 straightened the forks to a shop.  Problem persists
3 swapped forks with a second set I bought from a used and run down ttr. Problem persists

A friend suggested that it could be the triple clamp or its axle that are skewed and causing the titt. Another possibility, and what I fear, is a bent frame.

Do you have any other ideas as to what could be the cause and what homemade solutions I can try to fix it, or at least determine the cause before visiting the shop to straighten the frame? Your input will be much appreciated as most riders I know suggest leaving the ''piece of ****'' as it is or just selling it. I JUST REBUILT THE ENGINE!!!furiousfuriousfurious

Thanks in advance.

only thing i can think of to check would be the back axle is adjusted properly, its easy to have the snail cams out by a notch.

if you google how to check the wheel alignment there are a few tips online.

I've never had the problem on any of my bikes but would be super annoying.
