I am currently building a 2004 TT250R engine but I am not sure what goes in the two holes pointed to in the attached picture. The holes are behind the clutch and the only picture I can find in on the TTR250 website and they look like rubber patches, the top one appears to have a smaller hole in it. My best guess they are some kind of baffle, but I don't get why they are required so high in the casing and I either want to get hold of them, I cannot find any listings for them on Fowlers or any other website I have looked at, or can I leave them out. the engine is destined to become a 350 so its not going to be standard anyway.

The only split crank casing's I have here don't have them either.

Some early bikes had extra bits, that the later bikes don't have confuseconfuseconfuse

As far as I can recollect they were a form of baffle or restrictor for the oil.

There are a few things like that that appeared on the very early TTRs that were dropped, presumably to reduce costs, on later bikes.

The one that always amused me was the hazard warning switch  biggrin

Did it go off as the rider approached the bike?

I thought Australia was the nanny state, why didn't we get that?

Sshhhh.  Don't talk to loud, some shiny arse cake eater will think it's a good idea.
