Been a long time since posting, & a seriously wet spring + health issue (gout! in gear change foot) meant seriously restricted biking.

Anyway I’m fit enough to get out again and the wee bike has been a star. Thought outside storage had knackered battery but Optimate did the business. However, either it’s my imagination or she’s LOUDER!

I’m suspecting silencer internals might have rotted. She’s running as good as ever, maybe better so could there be less restriction in exhaust? Who knows?

Came thru MOT fine , as usual.

And the even better news is she & big brother (FJR) are getting garaged again in new gaff. 😂

Hi Gordon,
It’s great to see an 80 year old still enthusiastic about Riding his Bikes.
I’m only a youngster at 72 and can’t wait for the Winter to be over and get out on my TTR again.
I’m a “Summer Rider” these days (did too much Surfing in the Winter as a youngster so don’t “do cold” well anymore) although I do sneak out for a quick Ride “around the block” when the sun has some heat in it.
If you think your TTR is too noisy, take out your Hearing Aids and let her rip.
We’ve been Law Abiding Citizens for most of our lives so now is the time to Push the Boundaries abit !
Got a MOT so go for it - scare a few “Old People.”
Hehehe
Cheers
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

agree, the cold is a bummer but my heated vest works a treat.

Many moons ago I got into windsurfing on Loch Lomond, very deep & cold. An offshore workmate had given me his retired 10mm diving suit so no issues re cold, except…. having got myself knackered on the board a nice wee swim would do, it’s October, so not humoungusly cold until I dived under. Kerist! Last time I tried that without a hood.

BTW I was getting beginner tips from a lad who’d windsurfed across the English Channel to raise funds for a cancer charity. He’d previously lost an arm due to cancer but battled his way back to amazing fitness. We’d be on the loch in winter squall, him racing across to the other side, me unable to keep my giant sail up [7.4sq mtr I think).

Happy days

Hi Clutha,

Gee, just reading this makes me feel cold !
I remember driving passed some of those Lochs in Scotland back in the 70’s and they were dark water and very cold.
You are a brave man taking them on, even in a 10mm Wetsuit.
“A nice wee swim” aarrgh !

Yesterday, I did all the stuff that is required to make my TTR Road Legal again for the up coming New Zealand Summer.
All good until late May 2025.
Wouldn’t you know it, today has dawned wet and miserable.😞

Stay warm
Jeff
